I recently acquired an English version of spinmaster for MVS (shown below) But when I try to play it: the video is great but there's no sound. I tried 4 other carts, even a multi-cart and they all work fine.

So I'm not sure if it's possible the game is defective? The pins look amazing and I thought the Neo Store was a safe place to buy, so wondering if it's my set-up?

I'm using an Omega MVS, then scart to an upscaller and out through HDMI into modern TV. Again, my other games...

Watching all the Samurai Spirits intros, I noted that Samurai Spirits III has the shortest, most abbreviated intro out of the lot. No story line, no narration, just a few character introductions and that's it. Was there any reason it looked so rushed and uncinematic? Maybe this was something not lost on SNK, which is why they went back to the old awesome formula with Amakusa's Revenge?]]>

Hoping you can help me out here...

I have a Sony BVM and am trying to use a Neo MVS through it. Sadly the image is "too bright/to high in contrast" and losing detail...

I'm struggling to take an image due to the camera missing half the screen when I take a shot...

Is there a setting I need to tweak?

A little peek into the Z80 code in the M1 ROM of ADK's Neo-Geo games revealed a sound/music driver that was relatively easy to figure out & extract the note data. So, I've written up a page about my discoveries, and provided a couple conversion tools (& ASM project) that I hope help more people put their music into homebrew NG games, or rearrange ADK music on other sound hardware, etc.

I know some legitimate SNK MVS boards have EPROMs on them (many of which are uncovered inside the case). How long will eproms last uncovered like that? Should people worry about this? How much more life would you get by covering them to protect from ambient light leaking in?]]>

So i've seen LOTS i'd say maybe even the majority of MVS carts with the serial numbers removed. Some of the vendors do show the boards and i've run them past the MVS Scans site and they seem to be real, trustworthy vendors the whole thing so...why would people remove the series numbers? Just a curiosity as to why this is so prevalent.]]>
