Just thought I would mark the moment. It's exactly 14 years today since Kurt Cobain committed suicide. Can't let the day pass without mentioning it.
Good point. We can all remember him for his contributions and making grunge a part of the world even for a bit. The Vaselines, the Cramps and other bands would be proud =)
Gotta love Nirvana I listen to them from day to day. I don't think themselfs at the time knew how much a big impact the album Nevermind would make they really were legends
I used to like Nirvana a lot some years ago, we even made a party in the 10th anniversary of Cobain's death playing only Nirvana videos, discs and all the stuff. Then with the pass of the years my music tastes changed and that style of music started boring me. Anyway this brought me lots of memories
I was just listening to Bleach the other day. I think Nirvana was a big icon of the 90's, so I love em. I remember when he died and MTV showed the unplugged Nirvana. My mom saw Nirvana in a club way before they got popular, so that's cool.
I love walking around downtown or driving around the city listening to Nirvana... it just feels so right.
I was never a big Nirvana fan, and I still think Courtney Love had him murdered, but that's just my opinion (don't want to bring up that old debate). He certainly had an impact on music of the time.
Its crazy its really been 14 years since he died.Nirvana is still one of my favorite bands. Also you guys should check out About A Son.
My brother LOVED Kurt Cobain. I kinda got tired of Nirvana's music though. He played it all the freaking time. He had the teen spirit song playing every morning on his alarm clock, too.
Not such a loss to Geffen I suspect - being utterly sceptical about the whole 'Dead Superstar' situation.
Also on that day, super session drummer Cozy Powell died ten years ago. Lee Petty (NASCAR driver and father of the more famous Richard Petty) died in 2000 and in 1964 that semi power mad general Douglas MacArthur died. Probably also worth mentioning as I am sure it's a tad more important then a maniac depressed suicidal singer songwritter taking his life was the fact that tomorrow on the 7th (1994) was start of the Rwandan Genocide. On a more happy note it's the birthday of the Internet tomorrow (1969) and the World Health Organisation.
Despite of him being a sick'o'rama, a psychiatric case, a totally depressed fucked up idiot, I still admire him for the way he was able to put his feelings down on his guitar by smashing it usually on dave Grohl's drums. The only thing i complain about in my whole life (well there are more, but this is important to me) is that i never saw them play live. Kurdt Gobain R.I.P. PS : i went to Seattle last october to see his grave, and finished to Hendrix's grave instead
Amazing that the music industry managed to make grunge "commercial"... Anyway, Cobain isnt death, hes just invisible now, like this bike:
Same here, never saw them live, man that would have been a killer experience to see them.I know Parris saw them live in concert.
