    Hello guys

I just received quite a strange PS2 preview game. There are 2 discs in the box, one marked "layer 0" and that can boot on the PS2 and another one marked "layer 1" that cannot boot (recognized as a video DVD). Both are burned up to their end. Have someone ever got in his hands such a unusual kind of game ? What is this meant to ?

Well, it seems like dual-layer games on the PS2 are handled like 2 separate discs. For example, to install Xenosaga 1 (a DL game) on HDLoader you must first read the whole disc to an image file, use a special tool which can read the second filesystem and then copy all the files from both filesystems to a new image which you can finally successfully run with HDL. Mounting the image with Daemon Tools or such only gives access to the first filesystem even though the image has them both. Maybe this is related to that. Perhaps they were out of dual-layer DVD-/+Rs? :)

Well, that's maybe because that kind of copy protection was not yet integrated (though the game is fully translated). Though it's a SCE a game, i do not really think a penury could explain this separation in 2 discs ;)
