hi assembler members , i have 2 PSPs i got in a lot and i'd like to fix them i'll list below what they are doing.

a 3000 shows no life with a battery or a charger plugged in................fuse ? or killed with a CFW attempt ?

a 1000 Fat i used as a parts PSP but as it is shows some life , currently it has a smashed screen along with the backlight connector on the Motherboard is missing a tab so it needs a replacement connector. The UMD drive is disconnected ( still have it ) and the power switch PCB is f'ed as well. But when a charger is connected i get a solid orange light , i have ordered a replacement power switch PCB it should arrive next week.

i was thinking of buying a broken PSP 1000 Fat to get the screen and buy a loose loose backlight connector.

    thoughts ?

You can make the second one into a home console. A 3D printer, an old controller and an AV cable will do. You may be needing the internal one though, for setting up the external connection.
Cram the PSP into the controller and make a new bottom for it. Useless but cool.

Not sure about the first one: does it get its light on? May be an electrical problem. I've never heard of someone failing to CFW a PSP: it's noob proof, especially on the 3000.

You can still get replacement screens from China, no need to hold out for a whole defective PSP unless you also want to salvage the BL connector.

@Jack.: AV out on a 1000? Afaik those don't have AV ports (mine hasn't), so please do elaborate.

@s8n Hey. In my experience with CFWs and such, I'm still confident that the fault is not bricking. I would suspect the power circuitry to be faulty in some way, because if it was either the CPU or the RAM the light would probably come on nevertheless. Still, this is my opinion. Try to crack it open and check for any damaged trace and let's see. You might also want to look if there are some schematics around to check, just in case.

@rso You are indeed right, I forgot about that. Consolizing a PSP is not worth the effort nevertheless.

The 3k has a hardware problem, a software brick would still give you a green LED then it would shut off since its flash would be fakked.
