I'm starting to ask around online. Any leads toward contacts who might potentially offer this service? Thanks!
Why not take the metal case off and have it powder coated red or some other colour and then have a print shop do up some vinyl stickers? Type in "MVS 2 slot" into Google and hit the image tab, there are some fine examples.
Several reasons. Too overdone. Many have taken the approach it's almost cliche by now. Won't resemble a console with open sides and bottom. Not to mention all the room for dust to get in. Widely unrealistic as the idea is (I know I can't begin to afford it!) I'd like to idealize the thought MVS had a mass market priced wide release alongside SNES and Genesis. As if AES was never conceived.
I understand now, I like your idea. Have you seen this thread on Digitalpress? http://www.digitpress.com/forum/sho...mething-that-may-interest-you-guys-need-input I know its not a CMVS but he made a new case for an old system. EDIT: I read some of that thread as it had been updated since I last looked, seems he is interested in doing CMVS cases. See post #74.
You could just design your own with CAD and see if someone with a 3D printer can make one for you. I took the easy route and just reworked and painted the case.
One idea I'm thinking is the acrylic PC case look. It'd be something like that clear original Gameboy.
