I have 3 questions about the Nintendo Handheld 3DS. 1> How do you tell from a Japan version from an American version 2>The pictures it takes, you save them onto the SD card. Can this card then be read by a computer 3> Are these games any good: Jake Hunter and Original Frisbee Disc Sports: Ultimate & Golf =hugh
1) Not sure, but they probably have different model numbers, and the Japanese version will have a Japanese OS whereas the American one will have an English OS. 2) Yes. 3) No idea.
Look at the back it will be bleeding obvious. Japanese text or a 1-800 number for US support or other stuff. However, on the back it will have the region after the model number CTR-001(xxx) Where xxx is JPN for Japan, USA for er USA and EUR for Europe and Australia and New Zealand.
Thanks for the quick replies, I just wanted to make sure I got a US system, since they are region locked. What are some of the good games to get, right now I'm getting a pinball game with it. Other then Zelda, any other RPGs out there? =hugh
Only DSi & DSiXL are region locked & that only depends on if a game has DSi features as it's the features that are region locked. If it's a DS or DS lite then they play anything from any region.
I thought it was region locked. Can you play a Japan game on a US unit? I thought that wouldn't work. =hugh
DSi, DSi XL, and 3DS are all region locked. They are only region free with older DS games that don't use DSi features.
Ironically, the inbuilt games like Streetpass Mii Plaza do work everywhere in the world. I have a USA one and in Japan I do get extra people and the Japanese text appears fine. So it would seem that the firmware around the world is very similar...
I've been following the threads for the 3DS, and wondering what are some of the good games for it? (I'm thinking of getting one) I saw Tetris is on it, can you play other Tetris players over the internet, or do they have to be near you? I haven't seen any real game play of Mario 3D :mario: any good, is it really hard like Super Mario Brothers 2? (I don't like games where when you die you have to start back at the beginning.) =hugh
Super Mario 3D Land looks good, but I haven't played it yet. Star Fox 64 3D is great. Plays just like the original, and the graphics are vastly improved. OoT is a great conversion, and fun to play. Steel Diver is cool, but rather difficult. Ridge Racer 3D is decent, but it doesn't really add much to the series.
Mario looks good so far (on had about an hours game time so far) 3D looks great on it and its got that old skool vibe from Bros 3! Just purchased Shinobi but haven't played it yet, reviews look decent. Star fox was fun, but wasn't really my type of game. Resident Evil and Street Fighter are decent but if you have access to other systems their versions are a lot better! Really looking forward to Mario Kart and my 7 hour flight home in a few weeks to get some game time in on Mario and Mario Kart!
Here is a really dumb question, does the 3DS play all DS games that are with in that region (in other words will all US DS games work a US 3DS?). =hugh
Anyone have Sonic for their 3DS? I was wondering how that looked, I don't own any of the current gen consoles to try a demo out. =hugh
