I have a 32X connected to a Genesis Model 2 and Sega CD model 2. I was using my Mega Everdrive to play a 32X game this morning. When I was done with the game, I hit the reset button on the Genesis and it didn't have any effect, so I hit the reset button on the Everdrive. The screen went blank and then nothing. So I toggled the power button and no longer saw the familiar multcolor flash of the Everdrive loading. At first I thought I may have somehow damaged the Everdrive, but the cart still works fine in my Genesis 1, and in my LaserActive Pac-S10.

Without a cart the system powers up and shows the Sega CD loading screen. After determining that my Everdrive still worked in my other systems, I tried several Genesis carts on the 32X and couldn't get any of them to load. The only one that did anything was Streets of Rage which resulted in a high-pitched whine and a blank screen. But I put in Star Wars Arcade 32X and it fired right up and played without any issues.

I've read a couple of instances of this going the other way around where Genesis game s work but 32X games don't but has anyone come across this behavior before?

I'm going to do a little more fault isolation after I post this, but I figured I'd ask in case anyone might already know what's wrong.

I'm assuming that you have all of the 3 ac adapter going with the whole setup correct? Otherwise you might be looking into giving the 32X inner ribbon cables a look. Does the Genesis model 2 reset button works ok without any of the other attachments?

You were right, it looks like it was just time to re-seat those stupid ribbon cables. Weird the problems that can cause. Thanks! Fired right up after I did that and everything is working normally now.

By the way, I'm using a "Trio Ultra M2" from RetroGameCave to power all 3.
