I have recently gotten myself a Sega Mega Drive 32X attachment, and just the other day received the necessary Mega Drive 1 to 32X interface cable. Yet despite putting in a compatible power supply, and had the 32X RCA cord attached for a prolonged period of time to prevent any damage from attaching and reattaching, I am unable to get it to work. I had tried to use a Mega Drive cartridge (Columns) on the 32X, since I had heard that you can play Mega Drive games on the console attachment, but however I don't get any signal. I don't get any picture or sound, as if it has not been turned on. Now while it still works if I just use the Mega Drive output, when I try to use the 32X, I get nothing. Is there something that I am missing, or is the 32X having a serious problem.

Here are the websites for the cords I use...

Could it be that any of them are at fault, or do I just have a faulty 32X? I really need help so I can figure out a solution and start playing on the console. So if anyone can help me, I really would appreciate it.

It could be your connections, however I've seen from experience that it's usually the cartridge connection between the 32X and the Genesis. Try unplugging it from the system and putting it back in as straight as you can.

I tried unplugging it, and putting in as straight as possible, and it still does not work. All I get is a blank screen, as if it were never connected in the first place. What could be wrong with it?

Inside are 2 ribbon cables that can cause grief. These need to be re-seated.

Which way, the circuit board with the cartridge port or the main circuit board that connects to the Mega Drive?

The board on top next to the 32x cart slot. Try that one first since getting to the bottom board that plugs into Genesis/MD slot is a bitch to get to. 50 screws, 20 RF plates, assload of hard to deal with cables.

Why Sega made Megadrive 2 with so much empty space but 32X with so little space is beyond me. They could have made a larger semi-rectangle shell rather than tiny mushroom for the top.

Deff check the ribbon cables, I habe read many people fall victim to those loosening up. Post some pics of the boards/internals maybe one of the local sega masters can do a visual and spot the issue. Good luck compadre
