I own a PAL Sega Megadrive 1 with a PAL Mega CD attached to it, and an NTSC 32X. Now whenever I try to run a game through the 32X using the RCA cables from it, it displays no image. Now I checked if the 32X is of fault, yet when I look through the Mega Drive's AV output, it displays the images from the MD produced elements of the 32X game. I was wondering, will buying a Mega Drive 2 SCART cable and a SCART to RCA interface solve the problem, given the output being primarily RGB, or do I need to get a modded 32X with RGB ports? I really need help with this. So if anyone can help me, please let me know. These are the cords I'm was talking about... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AU-SCART...AU_Video_Game_Accessories&hash=item4adca9fbb9 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Triple-R...Yellow-Red-White-A-V-Lead-Cable-/251495809042
That won't work. Your 32X is set to receive 60hz, but the Megadrive is sending 50hz. 32X already outputs RGB from SCART cables made for it. Problem is RGB is a different format, conversion to composite means a video encoder.
Did I mention I have a 50hz/60hz mod on the Mega Drive itself? Would that make any difference? And what if I mod the 32X, with a region Switch, and possibly a switch connecting a PAL and NTSC crystal to their original position, so I can select between the two?
In that case the 32X isn't working somehow. At 60hz, you should get NTSC AV from the 32X. 32X receives RGB then makes its own AV.
No, what I mean is if I put a switch for the 32X in, and perhaps a second switch with the two crystals, would that work in solving the problem, and getting an image on the screen?
The 32X is working! All I needed was to connect the PAL jumper to the specific chip, and presto! I managed to get it to work perfectly! At least that solves that problem.
Hmm this is getting weirder. Composite from an NTSC 32X should become NTSC color at 50hz (non-standard format), if modded to receive 50hz without any changes to the crystal.
