    Hi all.

I have extensively modded my Sega Genesis/32x combo and I'm having interference that I believe is a ground loop issue. The issue is specific to the Genesis/32x combo as it does not occur at all when using the Genesis (model 1) without the 32x. Before I describe the issue, below is a list of mods that I've successfully performed on this console:

    >Genesis S-video
    >Genesis stereo audio rear jacks (via headphone solder points)
    >Genesis halt switch
    >Genesis 10 MHz overclock (unstable despite super-short wires)
    >Genesis US/JP region switch
    >32x S-video (as described here: http://retrogamesandhardware.com/sega-32x-s-video-mod-v2/ )

Everything works great but when I use my 32x, I have minor interference in the picture, a sort of subtle moving fuzziness in blue backgrounds especially, sound interference (hum), which gets much louder when the s-video cable is disconnected, and, rarely, a scrolling horizontal bar of video distortion (warping) that moves bottom to top.

All of the symptoms lead me to believe that my 32x is creating some sort of ground loop problem with my Genesis setup. Connections with the setup when this occurs include:

    >AC adapter to Genesis
    >AC adapter to 32x
    >AV out from Genesis to 32x
    >Stereo audio from rear of Genesis to TV
    >S-video cable from 32x to TV

**All S-video and AV connections added to the system are properly grounded.**

The issue seems to be related to my stereo output jacks. I can't get audio from the back of the 32x, as a Genesis 1 + 32x combo must get audio from the headphone jack. When I remove the stereo connections from the back of the Genesis, the moving fuzziness video interference remains. Interestingly, the hum disappears when I remove the stereo from the rear but use headphones from the front jack on the system. Since the audio mod was taken from the solder points under the headphone jack assembly, I'm a bit surprised to have interference.
