[360] Dark Souls Review/Debug DUMP(Files needed to run)

WARNING: YOU MUST LEGALLY OBTAIN A COPY OF DARK SOULS TO GET THIS WORKING FOR LEGAL REASONS! THE REST OF THE GAME IS RETAIL GAME FILES, THEREFORE I ONLY UPLOADED THE FILES THAT ARE DIFFERENT IN THE REVIEW. I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY AND/OR DAMAGE THIS MAY CAUSE TO YOUR GAMING CONSOLE. THIS IS A REVIEW BUILD OF THE GAME, WHICH IS WHY I'D RATHER PUT OUT THE DIFFERENT FILES RATHER THAN THE RETAIL GAME FILES. THIS IS FOR YOUR SAFETY, AND MINE AS WELL!

This is basically the files needed to get it running on any copy of Dark Souls for the Xbox 360. The other investors must ask me to upload all the game files if they'd want a full dump, but seeing as I don't want everyone to wait, I've uploaded the ones needed only. This is going to be a documentation and download of the files.

    DOWNLOAD: http://www.mediafire.com/?kvn7qpxsg6fgbv1
PUT INTO YOUR DARK SOUL'S ROOT LOCATION THEN LAUNCH THE XEX

    DOCUMENTATION:
    THE FIRST SCREEN:

The first screen of the game will be this. This is a list of what each does and what happens if you launch them. Just a note, when it says crash, it crashes on the review copy as well. This is exactly the same as the review copy as these are the files needed for it to run. Here is a picture of the first screen and what happens when you open them.

If you launch the review screen, you'll go to an alternate start screen, press start will give you a pre-set of characters. Choose one will give you tons of good stuff and start you around the start of the game.

    THE DEBUG MENU:
The debug menu is fairly simple to use. I won't go through all the options as there is a shit load of options to choose from. Pressing SELECT will bring up the menu.

Pressing SELECT again will still show it but make it playable with it still on-screen.

Pressing SELECT a third time will make it disappear.

    NO CLIP IN-GAME:
NoClip is a fast debugging option by pressing in the LEFT STICK(L3) will make your player move extremely fast. You can't really run through walls, but you can fly in by flying blow and skyward. Pressing LB while in NoClip will make you go through anything below you.

Pressing LT while in NoClip will do the same thing, but bring you skyward.

    ENJOY EVERYONE!

Not sure on how I'm suppose to move it. lol.

I think this is a more correct location. It was dumped from the disc of course.

I thought it was only currently unreleased games that fell under that ruling? Besides, this isn't the complete game, just the files to convert the retail to a debug version.

But the files included are the debug executable and content that is not on the disk you bought.. and i recently tried to post files that made gears of war 2's retail build work with debug commands and was denied.

The files state that it can't be any retail files, it must be different. Majority of Dark Souls files are retail, which is why I did this to keep within the rules while giving out the debug files to get a debug menu working.

Same as the answer above, the game is recent so I couldn't post all the files. ASSEMbler gave me the go ahead for this.

This is exactly the point. It was not on the retail disc you bought, the bytes and data are completely different. Only the files I post are different, making it legal and within the rules of the site. I don't know why the GoW 2 Debug was denied.

Hey Errorjack, when I extract your archive it says the crc fails on dvdbnd2.bdt I'm using latest build of 7Zip and I've tried redownloading multiple times, any idea what my issue could be? Edit: Tried redownloading a few more times and now I've managed to successfully extract all 3 files, hopefully they'll work. Thanks for the release

Another question for you, do you think it would be possible to port this to the PC version of the game? I believe it is an exact port, it uses the same files "dvdbnd2.bdt" and "dvdbnd2.nhd5" as well as the rest of the game files. The only thing is, the xex obviously does nothing on a PC, is there any way for you to patch the DATA.exe file (I believe the equivalent file) to activate the debug menus? The modified game files seem to be affecting my game, but I can't do much with them as it is. My enemies all look like red phantoms with the file swap, and they don't fight back. Kind of funny to see.
