Ditto. Look at how the face plate is devoid of fancy graphics. I'm assuming you can use media that has not been signed/flaged(ie demos for review and such)?
The coloring of the case. That's it. Demo Kit (also called debug) = White case. Looks just like a retail unit. Used for demos and trade shows. Half the units at Zero Hour were white debug kits. Reviewer Kit (also called debug) = Charcoal case. Looks like a devkit, only it has a removable hard drive instead of a fixed drive. Dev Kit = Charcoal case. Looks like a retail with a fixed "sidecar" for the hard drive. The White and Black debugs are functionally identical and will run the same software. Personally I prefer the look of the black one because it stands out. Put a white one next to a retail and you can't tell the difference -- which is also why you SHOULD NOT trust any video of a supposedly "modded" 360. -hl718
The Debugs that were stolen a while back were all white... Same logic with the Slimline TEST PS2, the black DVT-4, the debug PSOne, the "S" model TEST PS2... they're all modeled to look like the retail systems. It's easier to pass off at trade showes that way. lol, i never thought about those "modded" 360 vids comming from a white Debug... that would be funny... *ProgrammingAce has an evil thought....
Yep. The "S" models say "PS2" on the front instead of "TEST." The giveaway is the lack of a "DVD Video" logo. If it doesn't have the "DVD Video" logo on it, it's a debug PS2. If it has the "DVD Video" logo it's a retail PS2. -hl718
