    Hello,
I'm having strange problems with my dev kit as of recently, the problems have come out of nowhere. I'm unable to connect to the Xbox or recover in any way, unfortunately I do not have any recovery discs, but do have remote recovery, however, it fails to connect.

Even when trying to connect with network neighborhood I get "Cannot access file." when trying to connect.

I can connect to and run XBLA content just fine, but homebrew will not.

I decided to run network diagnosis from the Xbox dashboard and it does fail at MTU, however I can connect to PartnerNet just fine.

I'm confused, I've no idea what is going on.

Current flash is 5759 and XDK:5632

    Any ideas?

EDIT: Forgot to mention, when using XBCP to try to transfer anything I get "Clock not set" as an error. The clock in the Xbox dashboard is showing the correct date and time.

Did you try and disable your firewall on your PC,and I take it your 360 dev is set to automatic.I will say its your PC at fault and not your 360.

Wait what? Your dev wont run homebrew? As in betas and dev signed xexs and unsigned xbe's? If your speaking about XBOX1 homebrew the compatability for that is uber low. Are you even able to access the launcher? Have you tried bridging? Your router might be at fault. Can you exactly explain the problem? What would you need a recovery disk for is there something else wrong with the xbox 360 then just neighborhood connection?

No, I'm talking about 360 homebrew, anything, including the samples such as Dolphin will not run.

I've tried every application which worked a week ago such as XBCP, XBReboot and many others, my connection to the Xbox 360 is borked completely. I've tried multiple computers, firewalls disabled. I even went as far as reinstalling XP on another computer, firewall disabled over router and XP. I don't believe this to be a network problem. With XBCP the "Clock not set" error makes it sound like hardware failure, but since I can connect to partnernet and run any XBLA game it confuses the hell out of me.

With XBox Neighborhood I can connect to where I can add the Xbox, I add the IP, it takes me to the next screen to give me the options to set for that IP, once I click finish it tells me a file cannot be accessed.

This is not my first kit, and I've had this one for around a year now, which has worked flawlessly until now.

I don't know much about the 360 dev kits, but like with Xbox 1, this reminds me of XBDM errors.

Thats strange, About the MTU failing change your MTU level on your router..It should be 1500.

The mtu error is definitely a problem with your router, try changing the router to default settings then try again.

I've already changed it, it was at 1500 by default, I lowered it to what the docs said was the Xbox's maximum with same results, MTU does not fail on other kits.

I worry that this is an hardware error.

Well if its a hardware error ill take it off your hands :]

No really try connecting to your modem directly, that will tell us if its your router doing this, But from what I read thats not the problem.

the only thing I can think of trying is either Resetting your modem(dont even try I doubt that will fix it) or try using a wireless adapter with the kit, see if it can connect using a wireless adapter.

I've reset my modem and router many times now, I have thought of trying wireless, I'll see if I can get my hands on an adapter.

    Thanks for the help.

Just do a straight connection,no router. Also you can set your PC and 360 to manual so you can use the remote recovery if all else fails and goes for network neighborhood as well.

I got ahold of a recovery disc, all seems fine now!

MTU still fails, but it's not causing any problems anywhere else, I can connect with xbox neighborhood and XBCP now, thanks for the help.

Now I just wish I knew what happend!

Dev kits are prone to weird software glitches, such as when I played a certain xbox 1 beta game and I softrebooted via neighborhood (Dash not active title) it would make something in the kit go heywire. It would load back to the game rather then the dashboard and it even did this if I rebooted the dev kit by hand, it went straight into the xbox 1 emulator and then into the game untill I booted a 360 XEX from neighborhood then all became fine again. Dev kits just have weird software glitches I wouldn't worry too much about it, just keep a recovery disk handy at all times.

You make it sound like they will have problems. Ive never had neither of those problems and most people I bet didn't either...

Development kits don't usually have problems like either of those so don't worry about it in the future...

Yea Id think since this isnt a launch or pre release dev kit that Im sure it shouldnt have any software glitches..maybe hardware But I dont know about software.

The only time I've ever had a problem, is the time that the power surged while I was in the Flash updating process of the recovery disc. It screwed my flash, and I had to send it up to Canada to get it fixed, but that is the only "software" problem I have ever had with any Dev Kit I've had.

but it was an effect of hardware lacking the required energy to sustain itself.
