Well I got my nice new 26in LCD Samsung the other day Then got my HD leads so now in it`s full glory 1080 etc But for the first time last night I chucked in a DVD hoping for it to be a really good picture and it was dyer! I know on the box/instructions with the HD/Component cable it says play back in 480 or whatever Would I have to keep changing it to this everytime and would it give a better picture? I can`t see it happening but input appreciated.
try playing with vga cable as that upscales the dvd to 1080i/p failing that get a old modded xbox, compomnent cables and play that in 1080i, looks amazing!
I could have sworn i made an exactly similar-looking topic O_O haunting! The elite can do upscaling via HDMI too.
x360 dvd video playback is pure crap as some reviews reported, its really really bad, so i dont think you are going to fix anything changing your setup
seriously, get a cheap xbox with xbmc and component cables, you'll never need anything else for playing movies, if your interested pm me and i can hook you up with a xbox for cheap
The 360 won't upscale the DVD to 720p/1080i through component, thats probably why it looks crap, as said above, use a VGA lead and it will upscale the DVD properly.
