as title says, i got this thing for a change, paid 15 euros iirc (i've been sitting on it for a while)

im not really a fan of xboxes so i've never even used it, but since it was white it didnt fit my set of machines at all.
Got a little bored yesterday and decided that the target of my boredom for the day was my 360 :)

It's nothing wonderous, a charcoal/matte black paintjob and the dark(er) top+bottom, HDD and drivetray from the fugly halo3 box i had (it was broken anyway)
the memory unit doors and power button are from the halo box too, it's better to have them black than to paint them :p

here you go, hope you like it :)

Very nice, great job! What's next? Maybe RGH? :)

The gold bezel looks good with the matte black though, stands out rather nicely.

i've actually been meaning to mod this for ages, but i have literally never dealt with boxes before, so no idea on this one :p
Agree with the bezel, it's a nice detail, though it was a shame to junk the halo box since it's a limited edition, despite the fact that it's awfully ugly :D

there's only one game im interested of running on it anyway, so in that sense it's not a big deal, but i remember hearing somewhere that atleast back in the day, the game images had to be so called 1:1 dumps
or the console would refuse them.
the thing is i absolutely have to get it to run a modified game.

Either way, i'll be poking at modding it sometime when im bored again :p

You would just need to mod the firmware of the DVD drive (but I think this is piracy talk, so I won't say anymore)

If it's an older 360, it's cake don't even need special drivers or cards. I modded mine to prevent scratched disks since I collect ps3/xbox games (like I collect my anime.) Nice work on the mod though! I have that ugly halo 360, was my first one infact...if that was the drive out of it, I can confirm it's modifiable.

the drive in this one isnt from the halo machine (even though i do have that too) it's just the copper tray bezel i took from it :)
are the drives even interchangeable ?

as for this unit, it's a standard white one, pretty old, but i dont remember the drive or board revision. I did check those when i bought this but it's been a while :p

Great paint job! The copper tray is much nicer than the silver one on my Elite model :)
