So about a month ago I decided it was time to shift the WII (I never played it) and bought myself an Elite 360 with a few games. Fifa 08 Gears of War Vikings: Battle for Asgard Dead Rising Need for Speed: Pro Street I haven't really had time to play anything yet but I have some spare time coming up and have the following questions - What should I begin to play first? What other games would you recommend? (I am after a good racing game)
Pretty much every game listed in this thread is a must play. Brace yourself though, there's quite a few. http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20289
I read the posts in the other thread. I think I will try out GOW before the second one comes out. Is Assasins Creed any good? I picked this up for peanuts at a car boot the other day but not managed to play it yet. I am wanting a good racing game. Dirt or Grid I hae been told. Anymore?
Good to hear you have finally seen the light ;-) Essential 'must have' games... BIOSHOCK Orange Box Call of Duty 4 GRID PGR4 Fallout 3 Tiger Woods '09 Condemned Condemned 2 Dead Rising Forza 2 'Nice to have' game... Medal of Honor: Airborne Call of Duty 2 & 3 Battlefield: Bad Company Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway Guitar Hero: world tour PGR3 DiRT 007: Quantum of Solace Fable 2 Far Cry 2 Monopoly Hope this helps.
Alot of people are mentioning the same games here. I can pick up alot of them fairly cheap online too. Thanks alot everyone. Next on the hit list - Grid PGR4 Bioshock (This looks as though it has a bit of a cult following, lol)
Anyone else has this feeling that we won't be seeing the variety of last gen? I mean other than those cheap plasticky rhythm games both PS3 and 360 are marketed as PC-lite fps consoles. OT rant but still a valid observation imo.
Not really. Both platforms have a wealth of interesting, ingenuitive, and artistically bold downloadable games that invalidate what you're claiming. They both have their fair share of tedious by-the-numbers FPS games, it's true, but there've also been a number of real gems on each - and it's still early days. All the obscure niche games which were made feasible by the PS2's userbase/lower dev costs of the last generation have been replaced by downloadable indy titles. It's a fair tradeoff in my opinion.
the 360 does have a good amount of FPS's. but what i'm really surprised about is the RPGs! there are so many friggin' RPGs on this console it's insane! Lost Odyssey, Mass Effect, Tales of Vesperia, Infinite Undiscovery, Oblivion, Blue Dragon, Fable II, Enchanted Arms, Star Ocean, Final Fantasy XIII, and of course Fallout. Those aren't all exclusives but it's still incredible compared to last generation! :love2:
