360 Test Kit keeps restarting?

at first it was only doing it sometimes when i was running xbla games now its doing it when i try to run the xbox dashboard. I get a blue progress bar then the unit restarts and says something about "heap dump" any ideas? The unit has been on for about 5 hours now could it be heat issue? as i havent got any red light yet.

 

I heard from a friend a while ago his dev would being a dump when it was on the mist of red ringing or memory overheat

 

just run a diagnostics said "memory error" friend of mine said i should try a recovery?

 

it passes mem test with sidecar switched off??

 

Have you analysed the heap dump data?

 

Get your Dump and post it here for us to look at, In the mean time Try using a recovery. I have never heard of that problem but sounds like a Recovery should fix it.

 

where does it put the dump data?

 

It should be in the dev partition of your hdd,just look for it usng xbox neighborhood.

 

in the game development area theres a folder called dump with some sub-folders with xxx.xex.dmp the files are huge some near 100mb is that what im supposed to check? and what with?

 

Didnt you tell me you fixed it? If the problem is fixed then theres no need for going through your dump figuring out what was wrong back then.

 

the restart problem came back was ok for a while

 

ran the 7978 recovery and this time the Mem test passed with hdd enabled
