Yes, quite serious. Connecting the three JTAG points has nothing to do with reading and/or writing to the NAND. The JTAG connections are exclusively used for Xell as far as homebrew is concerned. This isn't a matter of opinion. It's a simple technical fact. If you understand how the JTAG hack works, then hearing someone claim it will let you read/write your NAND is laughable. If you want to read/write the NAND then you want to assemble a SPI cable and hook it up to a PC via USB or LPT/parallel. But just as a SPI cable won't do squat as far as booting Xell, making the JTAG hack connections won't do squat for reading/writing the NAND. -hl718
