I have heard that the Japanese Sega Master System (not the Mark III) has a built in 3D adapter. What does it mean by built in? Wasn't the 3D option a pair of glasses? Just curious because all I have is the Mark III and I have been wanting to pick-up a Japanese SMS because it has the FM sound already built in. I have not been able to find a FM sound adapter for my Mark III yet and it is bugging me. Also I have heard that the SMS has a rapid fire button built in. Is this on the controller or the console or where? Thank you for any help!
Maybe western "3D option" = Glasses + adapter to insert in the Sega "my card" slot while the JPN SMS only needs the Glasses?
The US SMS does not have a rapid fire button built in (at least mine doesn't). You needed to buy a plug-in rapid fire unit instead. The buttons on my SMS are pause and reset. I think the JPN or EURO SMS variants had a rapid fire button in place of the reset button, but I could be wrong.
The Japanese Master system has a 3D glasses port on the right front of the machine, you just plug a pair of 3D glasses into that. The machine also has a rapid fire button but lacks a reset button which is on the western machines. Basically the western master system was basically a Mark III in a Master System case and a different cartridge slot...
Thanks for your help! This helps out a lot. I am getting a Japanese SMS that does not come with the Zillion Zapper or 3D glasses. Will the USA versions work with the Japanese system? If not it is not a big deal - just curious.
