3DO FZ-1 CD Assembly Issues

Hi everyone, I recently bought a 3DO to have a go at fixing it and am having issues with the CD Drive assembly. Almost every time the CD tray is ejected it comes out too far, gets stuck and starts making a loud grinding noise from the gears hitting against the track on the tray. If I push down on the tray it snaps back in and goes in normally. I'm not sure if something has broken off somewhere or what, because I can't figure out whats supposed to stop it from coming out too far. It also won't read 3DO games, but will attempt to read and spins the disc fine only leaving a black screen. I would really appreciate any help I can get! Thanks!

 

If you find out how to fix that I also have a Fz1 here that wont read disc that I think it needs a new lens.

 

I messed around with it, but never got it to work. I'll come back to it eventually. I'm probably going to purchase a new laser for it. Does anyone know a place to get them cheap?

 

I saw apparently the laser it use in aliexpress for $30.

 

I read that an FZ-10 laser can be used with an FZ-1. Is this true?
