I can get the drive to open and close but other then that the drive does not respond. Anyone have any ideas?
Need more details. You've tried audio CDs and non-burned (original) 3DO games, right? Have you opened it up and cleaned the lens with a Q-Tip and 91% or better isopropyl alcohol? Is the drive attempting to spin, and/or making noise when it does?
Check all the connections between the laser assembly and the circuit board - I think there's 3 ribbon cables and 3 power cables. Also check the two ribbon cables that go from the drive to the motherboard.
I have an IDEA , I sold that to you as broken disc drive , you received the console and left me positive feedback on another forum for it. A few weeks later you file a paypal claim against me and cost me 52 bucks. No one help this thief. He obviously still has the 3DO and His Money , yet I got fucked. Oh I sold this to him for 25 bucks but since he filed a claim for credit card fraud or someshit I had to pay that fee as well. He knew 100% what he was getting into when he bought this console off of me for dirt cheap , I would have kindly refunded him if he sent the console back to me. But instead he keeps the console and the cash.
MarcM can you please explain this? I have seen the proof. $25 is such a small sum of money, I am sure you can admit you were wrong and repay mack702 It would be the honorable thing to do.
It came out to 32 shipped + a 20 dollar fee to the credit card company, I have tried to contact him on this forum and another one but he simply ignores me.

You need to enable emails on PMs. For some odd reason assembler wont set it as default, even though thats what the rest of the internet does.
If this can be resolved you will be considered in good standing. Politeness and respect for all parties has resolved many disputes.
