the price for a dev system is above 2000$ on ebay most units go for 2100-2600$ depending on the state they are
complete with software and documents as also both development cards where near 2300$ and more

maybe some people have bether sources but i think right now is the only chance for mortals get one via ebay

I scored a second 3DO M2 Development Card off Ebay yesterday. I now have the white M2 Drive Box, 2 Dev Cards with the M2's hardware guts, all necessary cables, a memory card and a full set of Development Docs (I haven't received the docs yet - they are in transit from the seller. 30 ponds of documents, heh)

The next step is to procure a suitable Nubus-based dinosaur of a Mac. I have located an old Mac reseller I've bought stuff from before (years ago) and they have PowerMac 7100 (PPC 601, 16 MB RAM, CD+ Floppy, 1GB HD) systems in stock. These have 3 Nubus slots, so I was wondering if anyone here had gotten their development system to boot up, played around with the Dev Tools CD, etc.

iam as far as you except i have now the controller and a fitting mac already (8x00 series) also i have a m2 arcade game if thats any usefull but i dont think so

2 people had already running systems here around one was lingjr and the other one bitrate

i havent played much around with my system since my mac had some problems working on a pc monitor (damn adapters) so i stopped the checking out and wait till i moved completly in my new home to get a proper mac monitor

Yes, those older Macs used a proprietary monitor connector. Good thing I'm an old Mac head, so I have an actual, ancient, honest-to-God Apple 13-inch CRT. I also have a variety of Mac OS System Software (8.0-9.2) so I can easily configure the that 7100 when I do get it.

My concern was if the power supply in the 7100 can handle the card. The M2 Docs diagrams all show tower models (PowerMac 8100, I guess.) Then again, a guy who sold his system on Ebay a few months back had the whole deal running on an even more ancient 68040-based Mac Quadra.

Did you ever try booting the arcade game's CD in the Dev System (or did Konami have a different bios for the arcade boards/CD's?)

my mac is a powermac and yeah it uses the same propietary connector i have a adapter but that looks like it isnt working so i have to check other ways out

on the arcade game i just got the cd home yesterday and if you check the other thread out in the videogames forum on the fzdr21 you see that i hadnt any luck reading it in a normal pc or mac software, nor have i had the chance testing it on the dev system since my mac wont run without monitor (ok mac runs but i cant use it =)

right now i hope to let someone other run it on a full chipped console instead of a dev system
