Hey all, I've got a problem with my 3DO model FZ-1. The machine will work for some minutes before constantly rebooting, then the red power light stays on and the CD-ROM is unresponsive and the system appears dead. If I leave it off for an hour or so, it will come back on and work again for another 5 minutes or so before the same happens.

I have replaced the capacitors as shown in this video: http://youtu.be/g61UfudJ7fY

But the problem persists, anything else it is likely to be?

I would fire it up then check by touch the heat on the power IC, if the heat sink is silly hot then it's the chip.

I've just noticed you board has no fan header, nor a fan. I've never seen that before. Did you buy this broken?

Does it look like someone has ripped the fan header off?

Put a small fan on the heatsink and see if it still fails.
