It's coming out in Japan on February 26th 2011 for ¥25000, and hitting the US/Europe the following month.

There's a short video over on Engadget demonstrating the whole connectivity thing and the automatic Mii generator using the camera. I've never seen the Dock for the system before either.

Oh, and the Wii Remote Plus with built in Motion +, has been confirmed as real. Looks like it'll also be packed-in with a game called Fling Smash.

At least it is no rushed release, like Sega did so many times.

I question if the lack of PSP2 competition is why nintendo decided to go with a 25,000Y price vs 20,000Y. This thing is more expensive then the Wii at launch.

As for the Feb date, That i'm a little shock on. I really though they would get a late 2010 in japan and early 2011 for USA/EUR.

I'll still buy one but some of games shown in this video kind of look assy from what they tried to sell us at e3 (i'm looking at you 2nd RE game).

Erm. I'd say give it 6 more months. ;-)

I wonder though, Could we have another case of the Wii or will people not really care for the gimmick.

It's a nintendo product, Of course people will go for the gimmick  Just wait until their 'bundle of happiness' starts throwing up whilst using the accelerometer and the 3D setting at once.

    Halirty ensures.

I'm curious how well japan will take to the 3D.

I'm not saying anything specific. Just if a PSP2 exist, for it to be out in the first 6 months of 2011 would have needed to hear/see something by now. As is the next major event coming up to show or announce big hw is CES in January. After that it's E3 in June.

Japan always pays a premium for this stuff, especially handhelds. Wasn't the DS lite 16800 yen when it came out in Japan? 130 USD here.

I'm crazy, so I predict DSlite will reduce to $100, DSi will go to $130, DSi XL will go to $150, and 3DS will go to $200 at release.

Haters keep hatin' on 3DS perceived lack of power. Sip dat haterade.

The price on DSL, DSi & DSiXL already dropped. So I don't think they will be dropping again before the launch of the 3DS.

Sadly this system will hit $250.

I don't think they are. A few probably will but I don't think both RE games will be out at launch. Maybe we will see 1 in the first 6 months?

Well considering PSP2s are supposedly being sent to developers now, I wouldn't be surprised to see PSP2 release late March early April. Though you have to think they'd want it out earlier as spring/summer videogame sales slow down.

You're all forgeting the Virtual Console on the 3DS.

I'll see at Marioland..all three, and then some more. If only they price them at a fiver.. I'd buy every single one of my memories back in downloadable form.

PS: They really need to reconsider the license/console bond, especially since this is a portable machine unlike the wii, it's very possible to lose your 3DS down a volcano in Bolivia where no warranty can help you.

To be honest I still want one for the Legend of Zelda OoT and Star Fox remakes. Plus I could do with updating my DS for the new Golden Sun! I still have the really old first revision of the DS around somewhere -__-
