Not sure how much demand there is for info on Atari Lynx titles, but this came up after I contacted Lore Design.. They had developed a 4 Player version of Kung Food, but this aspect was dropped as the time needed to test and debug the multiplayer mode would of delayed it's release. But also because market research had shown consumers did not make significant use of multiplayer functions in Lynx games..possibly due to amount of cables needed for link up and power adaptors for long play.. Thought i would mention as Atari's marketing made a lot out of Lynx ability to link up.
Your welcome. All the PDF files relating to the BIG GUN titles (Vindicators, Eye Of The Beholder, Rolling Thunder etc) have been pasased onto Atarimania, so in time i hope they'll be archived there. GTW was in contact with a C64 coder who was able to CONFIRM Tiertex were converting Strider II to Lynx and was 50% complete as UK Magazine Raze had claimed. Game however was NOT as several UK Magazines claimed at the time, used by Capcom as bisas for it's TRUE Strider II Coin-OP. Cal games II doesn't seem to of been headed Lynx way (thank godness it was awful on home hardware that did see it) sources from Epyx told me things between them+Atari were simply dire at that point. Whilst advertised, doesn't look as if Lynx Hellraiser was ever started.
http://forums.atari.io/index.php/to...bout-atari-panther-and-lost-lynxjaguar-games/ Jim Gregory talking about CUTS made to Lynx Dracula...why Solid 3D version of Battlezone had to be hidden etc. We had Jeff Minter Tweeted, no, whilst he loved Lynx hardware, Llamasoft too small to do Lynx development, so claims he was doing Ultra Star Raiders were incorrect. I spoke to Ex-Atari corp source Joel S, he thinks Rolling Thunder coder got in over his head, niether it nor Vindicators etc were high profile targets for Atari to bring to Lynx....
