4GB Hard Drive For PSP

you know its quite odd, but alot of these scene people dont seem to mine taking the risk. As for the the whole dumped games, kiss it good bye, two games that require the 2.00 update cant be run via any of the current methods of runing them due to encryption, as well dont forget that the next new games will most likely require 2.5, so i can say that area of piracy is at a full stop for now, cause remember how long it took them just to hack 1.5, 2.0 they barely found a loop hole, and 2.5 forget it. Lol by june will be at 3.5 already.

 

Indeed I am. I like games, not manuals, packaging, artwork.

It's good though, it means everyone gets a better firmware with new faetures. You think 2.5 would be out if no one had hacked 1.0?

 

Well if you like games - you want more of them made in the future, ie, support the companies - even if its sony!

Yeah, sounds like a lot to me. I would have paid that much for a small 4 gig HDD maybe like 4 years ago...

 

I almost pissed myself laughing when I read that. Kids on the internet are the reason why I hate it so much. Why must the internet be filled with so many stupid people? This is also the reason why I love this website... there are no stupid kids having their console wars or asking you "how to play halo on psp" etc etc. ASSEMbler, you run a fantastic site here, and seem to do an even better job keeping the riff-raff out.

 

Sorry to get off topic above, I just had to post after reading that. I did look at buying a hard drive for the PSP though, but as soon as I saw it was made by Datel that notion vanished. I defnitely would not want to put down $200 for something that is unreliable or poor quality, and Datel tends to define the word "poor quality" from my experiences.

I was just making an example of the many types of absolutely retarded questions and such you hear from people on a lot of boards. I came across someone the other day asking where to find an xbox emulator for their ps2 and I wish I could have reached through their monitor and slapped them. Not to mention the constant questions like "Where do I go to download this game"... little do they realize that question is an equal to an instant "BANNED" status on most forums.

I'm well aware of the existance of small format PC's though, the Sony U71's are incredible pieces of hardware, a tad pricey for my tastes though. Give the technology a couple years though and these things will be as common as laptops are nowadays and you'll probably see their prices dip well under $1000 like many laptops can be had for now. My only real complaint about these small devices is that they generally are lacking in processing power to improve their battery life which doesn't really work for me. I do a lot of heavy CAD and imaging work so I pretty much need all the power I can get out of my laptop and desktop.

As long as I can do it; I will only buy the games that deserve to be bought. Name some psp ones that fill that catergory :-D Although I do love WipEout and ToCa

Have you ever had a job that you didn't like? Why did you do it, for the money? How dare you work retail only to make money, if you're not doing it for fun, you shouldn't earn any money for it.

Personally i love what i do, but the industry is tough. There are plenty of people who only make games for money, and you wouldn't have a lot of the clasics you have now without them...

My point was (that you clearly missed); if there was no money in the industry we would still have games.

Movies, music, games are not necessities for life, they are an art. One which should be created for enjoyment and not simply to rake in the millions.

I know 10s of people who would rather have taken home 10k a year working for SNK than 100k for EA.

And no, I've never had a job I didn't like. Work takes up about 50% of your life - their is no fucking way I'll piss that away for a few dollars.

I don't mean to start an argument or anything, I just feel you somewhat missed my point. ;-)

And sometimes my tact isn't what it should be, so talk everything with a grain of salt

Can't you just dissasemble it and stick 2-4 GB CF card in there ? Surely it'll be expensive, but at least it won't break again

Funkstar - don't worry I really tire of the old "piracy" arguments. There is rarely any point in argument, expecially when there is bugger all chance that anyone is going to change their view (especially me!).

BTW if you are looking for quality PSP games -
Lumines (cheap and trite to mention I know)
Kollon (another puzzle game of high difficulty this time)
Guilty Hear XX (what one expects, high quality stuff)
Coded Arms (only if you have people to challenge)
princess crown (if you don;t have the saturn version)
Sengoku blade (cheap and fun shooter)
And I haven't touched on the RPGs
There is a good deal of quality on the psp and I do get bored of people saying that there is nothing going on. They are just making the wrong sort of games for it. They have the power, but haven't figured out how to use it on games you want on the go. If you are not going on holiday soon, or have a solid commute on a train, I don't think you need to spend money on a load of psp games. I thing a lot of negative comments about the psp stem from the fact that people are realizing there is no place for it in their lives. We have consoles after all and why emulate on the psp when you have a pc?
