Trying to find a composite switch with 6 or more inputs. The ones on Amazon have one of the inputs on the front (which I think is ugly) Anyone know of one with all inputs on the back. Found one on ebay with 8 in, 2 out, but wouldn't that mean I'd have to rig a Y adapter from the 2 outputs? http://cgi.ebay.com/Video-Audio-RCA...893?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item335901c75d
Why would you want to use anything over RGB? View points aside. You could easily daisychain several switchers (is that a word?) to have how much inputs youd want. And if the outputs on that switch are each for a group of 4 inputs, them yes, you would need to use an adapter to join them, or just plug them in different video inputs on your TV. But it dont appear to be the case.
Yup it's hard to get taken seriously when you say you want or use RGB in my country. Part of the issue for some project ideas, is not all modders here have RGB. They'll be unable to test their work if RGB related.
I'm honestly kinda glad it isn't taken very seriously. That means fewer people are buying the technology necessary for it, which means it's easier for me to obtain it. It's understandable. I doubt most people can really tell the difference between RGB and composite anyway. I showed my friend my RGB-modded N64, and all he could say is, "I guess it looks brighter." I showed another friend my Genesis and I said, "Doesn't it look good?" And he said, "Exactly how does it look good?" I had to explain it to him. They probably could've seen the difference if I showed composite and RGB side by side, but at that point does it even really matter? I mean, most people still use composite for their 360s on HDTVs, when they could be using HDMI. You kinda have to be a snob to really enjoy it, and most people just don't give a shit. They think, "Okay, just plug it in. Yeah, sure, that one. It works? Great. Good enough." Sorry to go on another rant about RGB. I couldn't help myself.
I have one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Universal-Sys..._1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1329338804&sr=1-1 Bought mine when they were still being sold new many years ago. One of my best purchases ever (except I could only find the silver one at the time). It's great and I believe would suit your needs (7 rear inputs). They can be found on eBay at varying prices. I would have found a new friend.
I do the same thing. They just dont give a fuck. Jokes on them, because we have glorious RGB  Oh, for the composite switcher, I just have 3 of those 3 channel slide selectors. There like $5 from eBay, and you can daisy chain them. Just got to switch them a lot is all.
Currently using a 4 input selector daisy chained to another 4 input selector, daisy chained into a VCR with 3 inputs, and AFAIK I think two of the cords I have hooked into the first selector are the 3-tipped multi-console cords. All of that's to a CRT for my retro systems, so I don't need a crystal clear picture anyway.
I have 2 of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Video-Audio-RCA-AV-Switch-8-ways-Selector-Splitter-2-output-manual-switch-s82va-/220867071458?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item336cb40de2 They are not the best but they are cheap. I'm buying a new one that has s-video to use with a few consoles. Right now I have a tv with only 2 AV inputs, so I'm hooking up only 16 consoles =( Some of them need to be set aside :~
Those are the ones I was referring to veggav. Do you only have one cord coming out from only one of the outputs and can switch with all 8? Or does each output only control 4? The way it looked to me was essentially having 2 (4in, 1out) switches in the same board. If you can have all 8 inputs coming out of 1 output I will definately get this!
I have one of these and can't recommend them highly enough  http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/160729170525?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_500wt_1225
You can have 8 inputs and 1 output. The second out I never used. I would recommend also a PS-B9 http://www.amazon.com/Technical-Switch-Panels-Incredible-Closeout/dp/B003PEOJBY This let's you plug 9 electrical plugs and have one out. This will let all your consoles off and when you switch it, it will let electricity flows to only one. I have all my consoles hooked up in a single wall plug since I only pass energy to only one at time. I needed to build small modifications using copper wire so I could plug some bizar consoles and I pluged for ex 32x + mega cd + sega genesis in a single one plug. So if I want to play it I just need to set AV channel 1, switch power 1 and switch AV box 1. It's very very nice set up ;D
here: http://www.teptronics.com/psb9.html it's the only place on the face of the earth that ships to Brazil. BTW, you will get taxed because this is kind big to bypass the custom. I bought 2 at once and I'm for one more. I need one more to be honest, if you would like we could split the shipping. By the way, if you buy it, buy A LOT of copper, some plug adapters to destroy to just get the flat shaped plug and some black tape or soldering iron. You will need to mod your old consoles plug to hook up on these. Or you can buy one of the expensive power strips: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Power-Strip-Liberator-Extension-Cord-Cable-Adapter-/220953236906?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3371d6d5aa#ht_500wt_1413 Since you can build an work around that I would not recommend. It's really sad there's nothing like these in Brazil. I'm back talking about the PS-B9. There's no such thing here. You have to import. Let me know if you want to bring one in and we can work this out.
