    Does any one know where to buy a replacement gpu for my ps3 test...

    Everything works perfectly, other than I cant get the unit to boot past the intro, then there is a red screen and you need to shut the unit down

    It will be the same one that another member was just inquiring about a couple weeks back (in the WTB subforum iirc)

    Yep. If your replacing it you might as well just open it up and take a look before you invest in a replacement. Thing is I'm 99.9% sure any one you get to replace it will just be a salvaged part anyways, unless you really let that one cook I'd just look into getting it reballed.

    And still then cross your fingers and hope the gpu was the problem.

    The unit has been reballed already, and the person that reballed it said the gpu was the issue and the only way to correct it is to have the gpu physically replaced

    @adrianc:

    Thanks for that link, I'll be saving that one! : )

    /me just hopes he doesn't have to have any of his debugs fixed but... just in case....

    Regards,

    npt

    p.s. to bob, I do hope you manage to get this fixed! I hope we can see this as the first successful replacement of a gpu in a debug, as I assume someone else will run into this at some point.

    I will need to find someone to install the gpu, because I think the retail and debug hardware are the same
