64GB cable

    Hm. Seeing that it's connected to the joypad connector, the intresting part is surely mainly on the N64 game that would allow for the cable to be used, aka the data that is transferred to the N64 would be interpretable only by analyzing the application. Do we have one? I think we dont.

    Let the hunt begin ;)

    there was a horse racing game, a card game and some others being worked for this device. It was the forerunner of the GBA-GC link cable sirs.

    so maybe analyzing the GC->GBA Cable would help?

    maybe, but as far as I know they re only similar in spirit.

    64GBケーブル


     64GBケーブルとは、ゲームボーイと64DDを接続するケーブルのことです。これによって、ゲームボーイをN64のコントローラーとして使用することができます。
     当初「DT(仮)」はこの64GBケーブルを使い、最大4人で対戦できるカードゲームとして開発しておりました。しかしこの度GB版のみの発売へと方針を変更し、したがって64GBケーブルは使用しないことになりました。
     この機器を使っての新しいゲームを期待して下さったユーザー、ならびに関係者の皆様には、ご迷惑をおかけすることになりました。スタッフ一同、深くお詫び申し上げます。何卒諸事情をご理解の上、ご了承下さいますようお願いします。
     なお、GB版のみの「DT」でも、通信ケーブルを使った2人対戦のカードゲームは可能です。




    64DD版・・・
    ちなみに当初はNINTENDO64用ディスクドライブ:64DDと連動した企画で
    64GBケーブルという専用の周辺機器を使ってNINTENDO64とゲームボーイを接続し
    テレビ画面にバトルの場を、 ゲームボーイの画面に手札を表示させて、
    つまりゲームボーイをモニター付きコントローラーにして
    バトルするというものだった。


    しかし64DDの不振でサービスそのものがすぐに打ち切られてしまい
    64DD版は完成していながら、結局お蔵入りに・・・。
    すでに64DD用ディスクの生産ライン自体が止まっていた為、
    制作者の分すらディスクを作れなかった状態だったそうだ。
    GB版だけで充実の完成度&ヴォリュームなのだけど
    本来の形で遊ぶことができなかったのは・・・とっても残念無念。

    beautiful images! especially the second one- I wonder if the case beneath it houses a DD of sorts - the GB cable-compatible games I know of made use of the DD.

    this is a different GB cable btw.

    The original GB cable came out of the EXT. port of the GameBoy Pocket (silver in expos) unlike this, a GameBoy Color that has a special gamepak that extends into a n64 controller interface.
