Hey just needed to know something real quick, I want to grab the key from this lite on which is a 2010 revision and replace the drive with the spare drive's I have in my room. I have seen many dated tutorials and nothing that refers to a 2010 model. I just want to know what the easiest way to grab the key's are, if I must cut the traces what do I need? I have seen people use tools I don't have readily available and I'm doing this box for a friend so I don't want to fuck it up. Can I just use an exacto knife and do I need to solder anything to get the keys and if so do I need resistors of any sort? Problem here is I just want the key and run it through another drive and throw this lite on piece of crap out the window, do I need a full fw dump to spoof or will the key itself suffice? Just need some quick tips as to what to do here. I don't have a multi-meter anymore, kind of short on cash and wasn't expecting to see the devil drive in a non HDMI board... Any help is appreciated.
2010 model? its either a lite on 9xxx 8xxx or 7xxx.... For an 8xxxx and above you need to cut traces, and if you flashed your 7xxx version drive with LT then you still need to use the method for the 8xxx drives and above.
Only for 8xxx v2's as v1's can be dumped without doing anything at all. Also if you are wanting to just switch it out with another drive that will not work if you flash a new firmware as LT+ has to be the same drive for the online features as spoofing is detectable. Meaning you can not take a lite-on and try to put in it a box that an Hitachi came from, jungleflasher will not let you do it. But anyway, you can get a probe II or a vampire, or just use the MRA method. Also Lite-On's are the best drives to come in a 360. Oh and it's not like cars, they do not go by year, just number, the only one to have two different methods of dumping and the same number are the 8xxx series. Hawk
If you're not worried about Live connectivity, you can spoof the drive...JungleFlasher won't let you but you can do it manually. Edit: KEEP THE KEY. Once you do MRA, the only way to re-dump is to do it all over again. Keeping the key will allow you to just plug it in any new firmware updates, write, and go.
If you are trying to retrieve a key from a fat xbox 9xxx series liteon, then you should use the MRA method... the MRA will let you grab the whole FW (with calibration data). You can use a paper cutter to cut the traces and its not that difficult...you cant use a probe to retrieve the key for 8xxx v2 and 9xxx
The Probe V2 (make sure it's a V2) can retrieve the key from an 8xxx and a 9xxx as long as you perform the trace procedures as in the MRA method.
One thing i may ask where can i get a cheap but non fake VT6421 pci card as i have one but will not show dvd roms i have on my computer as i would like one just incase i ever need to replcae a dvd drive on any xbox 360.
I just upped a video of this process to youtube, been meaning to make one for awhile. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDcTJD66oNc Hawk
NO. You might: Damage the tray open signal pin on the southbridge Damage the Tray moving sense pin on the southbridge Also you will surely have an "missing ODD" event recorded on the secdata.bin file of the console you used to power on the drive. Use an 3RLOD piece of trash for that.
