http://slashdot.org/articles/06/06/29/126234.shtml Google is launching their own version of paypal, called Checkout. Look at it this way, all you need is google to search for what you want to buy, use it again to search for reviews to see if it is a good product, and then use google again to pay for the product. You can store multiple credit card accounts and addresses. However, there is no word if and when ebay will accept this form of payment because ebay is, what I believe, what made paypal as big as it is now.
Well, we can all pray and hope that they won't rape up like paypal or side with the buyer all the time even when it's plain obvious they are ripping you off. Yakumo
And yet another part of my life Google can worm in on. What's wrong with just running an excellent search engine? If they keep expanding like this I worry their No1 service is going to suffer at some point. Meh, ignore me, I'm a paranoid weirdo.
Ebay doesn't have to support it directly within their system, but it would be illegal for them to say that you cannot use it for your auctions.
Yea, it would probably function how money orders/personal checks do.. just mark payment sent, and complete the payment outside ebay/paypal. Too bad there's not much of a chance of them being integrated into Ebay like paypal is..
FINALLY. How fucking long does it take for people to realize that Paypal is complete fucking bullshit. Uh -- last I checked Paypal was 3.9%. Did this go down, or was I high? EDIT: Checked at paypal. For under $3k/mo, it's 2.9% + $.30. If you do over $100k a month, it's 1.9% + $.30. I'll be interested to see if Google Checkout offers more competitive FX fees. As they're American-based, I would think not.
