Seriously? Man, that stinks. Maybe I've been out of collecting for a while since I already have most older consoles, but I thought it was only the current generation that is charged close to retail price even though it's used. Best of luck on amassing a nice set of consoles.

Clones do not look better and I've never paid the retail price for any of my (mint condition) retro consoles. The problem is just GoH being who he always is. If you always buy clones, powerpaks and whatever, you'll never get the real experience so don't complain. I never had a single of your problems ("will castlevania 3 run on powerpak with master X adaptor on a retro II through S-video... ... ") because I buy the original hardware. My mint AV Famicom was $50 and I don't regret a single cent.

    Also, this:
Just get an AV Famicom (the new, grey model) or an AV modded old FC.

I don't think the Retron 2 is sexy. I think it looks like a mutated Super A'Can. :p

When I read your posts I always wonder: what's wrong about buying the original hardware? Do you enjoy creating your own problems by buying that cheap China stuff for the sake of some irrelevant features? :p

I honestly think you're better off using emulators than a clone. Like BSNES, for example, is probably more accurate to the original hardware than a clone.

Who said anything about a clone, I think we established by now I'm getting a Genesis (or mega drive) of some sort, av Famicom, SNES and an N64.

Maybe a super 8 if I need room.
