A Devkit with mobo 009 and flash 1839.2,please help

hello everyone,i have a devkit with mobo x803600-009 and very old flash 1839.2
i can't use all recovery disc(7978 8276 9328) to update the flash
when the kit load the recovery disc,it gives me a note that this hardware is a pre-release and nolonger support by ms
but from some topic i notice the mobo 008 to 011 are all the final kit
so is there another way to update this kit?
my English is poor,i really need your help

 

You can't update this kit. If you were somehow able to, it would brick the kit. 1839.2 is the highest flash you can upgrade to

 

If it says pre-release hardware its most likly a beta prototype kit

im pretty sure your at the highest you can be if its a beta 1 kit ( not positive you could have a beta 2 kit, which i think goes up to 4x)

pics would help so we could determine what beta kit's highest runnable kernel will be.

im sure other members will be able provide more information

he says a prototype-final is a 008/009 and u said yours was a 008

so it may be able to go a litle higher than 1.8 but tbh i don't know

 

OE isn't the "xbox guru" he thinks he is, he actually knows very little (except how to collect) and is often wrong.

u probably cant update, your probably best of selling it, or holding on to it, beta kits are more-so collectors items rather than a standard dev unit.

 

Yeah, he's good at taking pictures of kits, but as far as I know he hasn't done a single thing with them. Not one thing, he just buys them and sells them a few months later.

I agree, no real reason to hold onto this as it can't run any recent kernel. If it's in good condition you could probably sell it to a collector for a good amount.

I already have a test kit and i acquired this beta kit for a real cheap price,so it's ok for me to hold on to it

Actually I would have corrected that info if I saw the post. Trust me, I'm not jealous of a guy with 3 devs and two beta kits, none of which he is capable of doing anything with.

 

Well why not help and contribute to astro's problem instead of bitching about OE.

Also I would agree with what Xenon 7 said, 008/009 are close to final hardware and I have heard that they can update to very new recoveries. But really its hit and miss, so I would be careful

What if i use the nandpro to backup a 4xxx devkit nand and flash into this beta kit? is this any hope?

 

Uhm, I don't know, I personally would not try to do that.

i think hes right because the hardware just cant support the higher kernels.

Now even if were wrong, its probably not worth the risk to try it anyway, especially with a rare piece of hardware like that.

 

On the contrary, 008/009's are not rare, but yeah not worth killing a console like that potentially if you don't know what you're doing fully..
