many years ago i remember playing an archade of '"bad dudes" that was different from all the roms and archade uh,roms i can find.

it was like beefed up, the levels where diffrenet and it was less old fashioned looking.
all i have to go on is memory, i can post no evidence. i remember it was a japanese version.

all versions i could find where identicle :snes,mame...

Bad Dudes (US, World) and Dragon Ninja (JP) are fairly different games. The iconic, "I'm bad", voice sample isn't in the Japanese version.

Maybe you're thinking of the semi-sequel, Crude Buster aka Two Crude (Dudes on Gen).

    thanks for responding.

neevr heard of Crude. also i'm not sure if i found a japanese version on mame, tho i assume i did becuase it tends to bundle them.

so do u mean the US-JP versions are diffrernt on archade or snes or both?

the thing i'm sure of is the female enemies wore skating helmats. i just played the japanese version and it's not like that. but i'm fairly sure this was a japanese version as the guy's intro dialog was in jap.

it was like an improved version.. much as the archade capt. commando is an improvment over the snes capt. commando.

Suggest moving this conversation to arcade forum.

The Japanese version was never called Bad Dudes, and you wouldn't have played it outside Japan.

You do realize that Captain Commando was a coin-op game, right? The SNES version was a port (hence called a coin-op conversion) - naturally, a home console wasn't able to do everything the arcade original could. The arcade version isn't an improvement - it's the original!

yah, it's calleed bad dudes vs dragon ninja isn't it? it's basically the same and not what i'm talking about.

oh, i get what your saying.. i wonder what that archade in that canadian hotel could have been then? i remember the bad dude guy talking and it's was being spelled out in kanji as he spoke japanese...

any idea what other game could have had a female enemy like that in it then? they still died in 1 hit like on bad dudes... seemed just like it according to memory ,but it was a long time ago..

Bad Dudes vs. Dragon Ninja IS the game - that's what it's called in the West.

    In Japan, it's Dragon Ninja.

As I've shamelessly hotlinked that last pic, check out the site it's from. It looks like it's got a good comparison of all the home versions:
