Illegitimate converters I'd think would be more friendly since they actually have casing and a tab or ribbon or something to remove the thing. The bottom line: playing FC games on a NES isn't as nice as playing FC games on a FC.

Or on a Game Axe handheld FC/NES.

I've heard those are pretty crappy......Aren't they like.......bootleg or unauthorized or something? How much are they?

  4. I'll keep that in mind next time I go looking, although I don't recall ever seeing a copy of Stack Up before. That was one of the three or so ROB games, right?

I remember like 3 years back, they were $89 or even $100 on eBay. Now, they're like $30. They are pretty crappy, but I never got to try one, they are bootlegs...

GameAxes are horrible. If you're going to play Famicom, get a REAL Famicom or AV Famicom, not a clone of any sort and play it on a decently sized TV with composite (do the mod if you must) :\ RF may be acceptible if you've got an ultra short and hi BW lead.

I once bought 3 NES's from a pawn shop for $3 each, with the thought of tearing them apart and using their best components to make one good (non-flicker) NES. Well the first two were fine, but I noticed that if I shook the third it made alot of noise. Lo-and-behold once I opened it I found that it was completly filled with dead roaches.

What's up with dead roaches & NES systems? Anyway, my NES system is on top of a console that my TV's also on. When we were moving from the house, we moved the console just to see a dead roach behind it.

No lie, just a similar incident with my NES.

  14. Yeah, but unlike the other games you actually needed a ROB to play it. It's a bit rarer then the other Famicom converter games but by no mean expensive. I'd say it shouldn't cost you more then 10 dollars loose. Which is funny because complete copies usally go for hundreds of dollars.

  16. R.O.B was basically a gimmick made to get Nintendo systems into retail stores after the big video game crash a few years before.

As for what's so great about stack up.. nothing really. It's only good if you're looking to get a cart with a famicom converter every time. The only reason it sells so high complete is it came with a bunch of colored ring type things that R.O.B used to play the game with. As you could probably guess most people either lost the rings or threw them away and that's way it fitches so a high price complete.

I could've sworn it was a Mini NES. When we inserted a game inside the NES, it sticks out just like a pic of the Mini NES I've seen. The flap to insert the game is like a VCR flap.

I wish my daycare still had it, I ounce tried to go in there, but they refused (lol, they don't remember me)
