Well my CD player (CA 340) only has RCA and Optical so can't use pure BNC, though one of the cables that comes with the DAC is an RCA - BNC, so will probably use that. I'm not too worried about it as I'm not an incredible audiophile and I don't think the jitter, if its actually noticeable, will bother me that much. This is my first DAC seperate though so I guess I won't know until I hear it...

I used to sell Cambridge Audio stuff and I can assure you the transporter & DAC combinations were very popular with audiophiles. It's not necessarily something most people would consider, but the separation of PSU from CD and DAC means a far steadier and constant supply. Apparently, even at their original cost they were considered something of a bargain!

It has been a few years since I dealt with them. Go for the BNC if you can as that is the most direct route (if you are going to the trouble of using a DAC you might as well ensure you use the preferred audiophile method). I think the arguement was that electrical had to be converted to optical and back again, therefore there was a tiny loss indicative of using convertors.

Could I hear it? Nah! But then again, who could?

You will get a smoother sound though - guarantee that as the CA DAC was great for it's cost!

Is the Katana still on hold for Dreamcast, or am I too late again?

Ah thats cool, where you at Richer Sounds then? Yeah I've read reviews of the CA DACs, heard several statements saying they perform like £2000 DACs - then again Cambridge Audio stuff always blows me away for the price - its meant even as a student I can get a very decent low end set up for very little money.

I'll probably use BNC when I upgrade my CD player (Which is actually a 640C not 340 as I said earlier!) but thats really not at the list of priorities at the moment, just want to get speaker cabling/interconnects and then the visual side of thing sorted and with my money thats likely to take until after the New Year at least! If the option was there, I'd take it, but sadly its not. I doubt I'll use optical/toslink, even though I've heard it makes little difference, as you too say.

I don't know what all the abbreviations mean, but I see the word "audiophile" grabbed my attention.

** NOTE ** I have just posted details of P&P etc to each potential buyer, please check you PMs and contact me asap.

First casualty of silly P&P prices to the US at present. PS1 Debug is still available.

Can I just point out that I have provided weight of item plus dimensions. If you can arrange a cheaper delivery then be my guest, but remember I cannot sit all day waiting for 4 or 5 different delivery guys as I need to take 1 day off work and sort this out, hence me selecting Parcel2Go as I have used them previously to Canada and buyer was happy. It's actually DHL who do the deliveries, swiftly, with security & insurance (if applicable).

None of this stuff is going Royal Mail!

Ready to roll; (Not all items shown as I ran out of tape, but all boxed up ready to ship!)

Yup, that was me... I admit I was a little surprised by the shipping (although I probably should have seen it coming)

The shipping costs to the USA are high at present. They went up a few months ago and refuse to decrease.

    This item is available again;
Old style FHAT PSP, completely brand new, never even used - direct from Sony as a replacement for a damaged unit. Priced to clear £60.00 (includes battery, but no charger!) £6.00 P&P within the UK. Unsold.

    As is this

    PS1 debug = DTL-H1001 (Blue) NTSC U/C -110vac (will require step-down convertor)

Priced at £50 ono for PS1 Debug Sold to Aypok for £30 knock down!

    Information on Parcel2Go
    http://www.parcel2go.com/

They act as a client, giving you the best deal available for the weight & dimension so the actual courier that turns up on my door may be DHL (usually), FedEX or TNT (anyone really). So once it gets picked up you'll be given the tracking number. I'll post the link here and PM you the number so that you can just come to this thread and check the progress.

Regrettably, I will have no idea until the parcel is booked and picked up as to the delivery times. They are usually reasonable, but I cannot confirm in advance.

In order to ensure I do this I need to obtain the payments asap so I can take 1 day off work.

Therefore, if you have agreed to the sale and wish to obtain item quickly then please consider paying today if possible. That means I can book the courier and send them tomorrow when I have already got a day off.

Lastly, I have organised a PayPal account for the payments to go to. It is owned by another reputable AG member. This should cut down on transfer costs and latency issues. I will send the PayPal account address as soon as I get confirmation that everyone is happy.

CAN I ALSO REMIND PEOPLE OF CUSTOMS! I am not sure in each territory whether you'll have an excess to pay to Customs & Excise. I have to fill 3 Customs forms per item (it really is a pain in the proverbial) and in order for the insurance to apply I need to be honest about what's in the packaging. Otherwise you may find that you have to pay a fine!

Any other issues please PM me asap!

Hope this clarifies everyone queries about Parcel2Go.

Can I ask people using PayPal please remember to make it absolutely clear what the payments are for. Sometimes it's difficult to tell.

Actually even for the EU you have to fill out customs forms (even though there should be no customs duty to be paid) , i think it is just the way the courier works

I personally can vouch for parcel2go, and it was i who recommended them to Parris, i use them at least twice a week, and whilst there have been a couple of hiccups, they are far more reliable (and in most cases cheaper) than royalmail

Thanks to those who have paid so swiftly and Andy has notified me of the payments going in. I realise this is not the ideal way of dealing with a seller, but it was far better than the alternative as the costs for £ transfer abroad are shocking.

Put it this way, this is the last time I deal like this. I am shifting my bank as I personally feel they are holding me back. I'll sort out PayPal as well.

Hope everyone is happy that is going smoothly and thus far on track!

Next step, the remaining buyers need to pay and then I shall 'phone the courier. :icon_bigg
