I had a few questions about these units, and I would like some clarification on some things...

-Can they play Gamecube Dev. discs? (I believe they are called NR discs)
-Do the lenses that read the discs fail often?
-Do I NEED a disc to install the wii menu? or can I use a cable to install it?
-Can I use other dev equipment or a computer to play wii games on this? (Sort of like how the NDEV works)
-Can I buy replacement lenses anywhere? (Hopeful question, although I doubt it myself)

The reason I am wondering so much about the lens is because I bought one of these untested (For a price I couldn't refuse; $64) and I don't know if the thing even powers up. Though most likely it does. I bought a wii dev. disc a while back, just because it was dirt cheap, and now, as soon as the rvt-r comes I can test it, and ask more questions depending on if it works or naw.

    1. Yes a RVT-R can play GameCube NR-discs.
    2. You don't need to install the Wii Menu, actually without it you have easy acces to changing the systems region and development modes. Basically when you have the Wii Menu disc you can install the Menu that you normally see on retail kits, without it the RVT-R boots in a MS-DOS-looking/Terminal way.

I know I can run games without the wii menu, I just want to know for testing purposes. I find it kind of funny how you can play NR-discs on there, considering the pribably
    Thanks!
