This coming spring I want to build a pc. I am worried that won't be alot of pc games coming out this year. So what I'm trying to ask would it be a good idea to build a gaming pc? Or would i be better off buys a big HD TV and a 360? I figured a budget of $ 3.500. Should be enough for everything thoughts?
Well, if you want to play games on it, yes you'll need a gaming PC! That would be more than enough of a budget - maybe even overkill. My friend made a top notch quad core system for somewhere between £1000-1500 - that's about $1500-2250.
If you've got a budget that big, why not get both? You could get a high-end PC and still have change for a big TV. The performance you'd gain from spending an extra grand on your PC probably wouldn't be worth it anyway.
You could get a decent system for between $1000 - $1500 with a quad core, ATI HD4870 ..etc. If you say upto $1500 for a decent size HDTV added to the $1000-$1500 you'd have enough left for a 360 as well.
USD? $3.5K is heaps, you'd get the top end i7, 4GB DDR3, decent motherboard and a GTX280 or two 9800GX2s in SLI for that price, with some Raptor drives and probably bluray too.
Oops, I totally missed the bit about the Xbox! Well, PC gaming and console gaming is very different. Some like both, some only like one of the two. Are you a pad person or a mouse and keyboard person? If you like both, get both for that price!
