    FINISH THE FIGHT
    [IMG]

This is a story about finishing the fight.

This is a story about 6.5 year old Chan Xiang Qi finishing the fight.

    *****************************************************************************************************************************************************************

At the tender age of 14 months old, he was diagnosed with leukemia. Due to the chronic nature of his leukemia, he required lifelong treatments, frequent hospitalisations for related illnesses, pins and needles and many other forms of discomforts. There also several instances in which his life was in imminent danger but he managed to claw his way back. This was a difficult path which only an extraodinary person could endure.

From the day of his diagnosis, his life has changed forever. However, there were several factors that kept him going strong for a long time:

    * The love from his family and relatives;
    * The care from his caretakers at KK Hospital; and
    * His love for gaming and his love for the XBOX and the 360.

    *****************************************************************************************************************************************************************

Chan Xiang Qi loved gaming and was known on XBOXLIVE by his gamertag "XQ1120" since he was 2.5 years old. He loved all genres of games but his devotion was most marked for the Halo series. He started with Halo 2 game, completing it multiple times. Towards his later years, his disease progressed and necessitated more frequent hospital visits. During these multiple hospital visits and hospitalisations, he continued his love for the game by playing Halo 2 (Vista) on a portable laptop.

In the early days of September 2007, he was hospitalised for an extensive period due to serious complications arising from his disease. At the time of admission, we still hoped that he could be well enough to be discharged in time for Halo 3 launch day on 25 September 2007,

However, this was not to be. He was still very ill on Halo 3 launch day and was unable to participate. Nonetheless, the played the first two missions of Halo 3 on a console that we placed next to his hospital bed. Two days later whilst still in hospital, he mustered his final ounces of energy and completed the Halo 3 campaign in 6 hours straight.

The following day, he lost full consciousness and we were advised to bring him home so that he could spend his final days at home. One of his final wishes was to see his Halo 3 super hero Master Chief. On the evening of 2 October 2007, Chan Xiang Qi passed on in the evening. Shortly after, his super hero Master Chief came to posthumously award him with the special Master Chief helmet. Relatives who photographed the ceremony from Master Chief saw a luminous vertical blue line on their cameras throughout the entire Master Chief event. We believed the blue line was our son coming back to watch the event. We knew he would not miss it for the world.

    *****************************************************************************************************************************************************************

This is a story about "XQ1120" finishing the fight. This also a story about Chan Xiang Qi finishing the fight of life.

This is a story about "XQ1120" unlocking achievements. This is also a story about Chan Xiang Qi unlocking the achievement of life.

Thank you to his close friends from Xboxgameszone for giving online companionship to him.......thank you for making a difference in a young person's life.

    Best regards.

From the family of Chan Xiang Qi

That is a really sad story, I must say I was being pretty cynical and expected a donation link in there somewhere.

I m happy that he finally rests, cancer is very painful for the individual going through it, more so a child.

It does go to say something about modern living and online experience that my first reaction was "why was this posted here" and "when does the donation scam kick in?"

As I read on and completely read it, I realised how jaded and cynical life online has made me.

R.I.P. little fella and I'll give my 3 kids an extra big hug tonight.

That's a really sad story. Although I do like pediatrics I can't imagine something worst than watching a kid dying slowly and not being able to do anything about it.

I thought the same thing when I started reading the story.
