Hello guys' I would share with you some documents from the SNES era, some stuff from Lucky Luke namely. It come from a friend who's agree to disclose some proof of bad hairy and shockingly bright wear of that time... aside with some more tech & design doc from the dev of L-L' game. It’s some picts from the development of LL’ on SNES by some French devs in 1996′. You can also see some debug screen and some picts from the in-house dev tool. There are also some scan of the planning (with some funny notes on it, in french...). so without more babling here they are: edit: here is a link to my site to see the picts bigger: http://www.nintendo-town.fr/mod2/ http://www.nintendo-town.fr/mod2/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/team01-150x150.jpg http://www.nintendo-town.fr/mod2/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/team12-150x150.jpg http://www.nintendo-town.fr/mod2/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/team02-150x150.gif http://www.nintendo-town.fr/mod2/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/team01-150x150.gif http://www.nintendo-town.fr/mod2/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/llsnes31-150x150.gif http://www.nintendo-town.fr/mod2/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/llsnes51-150x150.gif http://www.nintendo-town.fr/mod2/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/llsnes71-150x150.gif http://www.nintendo-town.fr/mod2/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/llsnes81-150x150.gif http://www.nintendo-town.fr/mod2/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/llsnes10-150x150.gif http://www.nintendo-town.fr/mod2/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/llsnes21-150x150.gif http://www.nintendo-town.fr/mod2/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/llsnes11-150x150.gif http://www.nintendo-town.fr/mod2/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/llsnes20-150x150.gif http://www.nintendo-town.fr/mod2/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/llsnes23-150x150.gif http://www.nintendo-town.fr/mod2/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/llsnes9-150x150.gif http://www.nintendo-town.fr/mod2/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/llsnes30-150x150.gif http://www.nintendo-town.fr/mod2/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/llsnes311-150x150.gif http://www.nintendo-town.fr/mod2/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/llsnes26-150x150.gif http://www.nintendo-town.fr/mod2/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/llsnes29-150x150.gif For the techy out there there is also some software like a "RAM Sprite converter to ROM Sprite" and one "nGIF to SNES Mode 7 Converter", an ADPCM encoder (sound) and a 16Bit sound converter between IFF / patch / SOL (see: BRR) (homemade too)... and many scripts to do some minor things. What do you think about this ? Do you like it ? Would you see more of it ?
...So as you seems to ask for at unanimity (*joke here*) , here are some more: http://www.nintendo-town.fr/mod2/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/TEAM19.gif http://www.nintendo-town.fr/mod2/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/TEAM03.gif http://www.nintendo-town.fr/mod2/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/TEAM25.gif the playtesters team: http://www.nintendo-town.fr/mod2/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/TEAM32.gif http://www.nintendo-town.fr/mod2/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/TEAM23.gif the tiny sticker from the photograph office say: "no bill for this one". ^^ Please, reader, don't retrain yourself to say something 'cause I'm feeling alone here... ^^
Love the pictures. I'm definitely looking forward to a more in depth article on the development of Lucky Luke.
Yeah the picts are great. ^^ For the in-depth writing about a making of SNES game by a "common" team of that era, I first have to decipher some rather obscure files extensions... I hope to be able to run some of them on their original software once found. It is a pretty big thing, the end is not coming near. Would you guess some extensions? here are some: for Sound: .WB .WSO .SOL (for partition but software unknow) .SBN .sme .ADP .GAK for Grafism .LBM .BNK .ANM .CLH (for sprite) .$$$ (yes, yes...) for Tools: .SBN .DSK .PRJ .C .H .ISX For SKYTOOLS: .VWA (... but what is SKYTOOLS first !?! ^^) and a special one: .VXX ... and the list goes on and on... I will ask dforce" and its worshipped beast at the rescue.
The 'SE is not destroyed, after many company sales & various adventures it was bunkerized by the big boss of a famous video game company himself (I will not name it) as he is a really a video game fan and want to preserve all the weird stuff from back in time'... as he simply told me. So the 'SE and MANY other cool things are waiting to see the light of the day again ! ... don't ask me more now, I am on the track ^^
