I have to put up with an e-mail address (for the UL Games Society - I'm the pres) that's at least 7 years old, and the amount of spam we get is unbearable! Thank god over the past year we've got rid of most of it thanks to SpamAssassin and a lot of tweaking it, but a few still get through occasioanally. But look at the crazy shit I got today, supposedly from "herschel vermillion":

    That's crazy.

What spam filters do people here use anyway? I've been pretty lucky so far, outside of a few nigerian scams a few years back and the odd "subscription pills for sale" email every month or so I've not been hit bad with spam.

I just use the built in thunderbird filter combined with the hotmail filter for my 3x hotmail address (i use a program to allow me pop access to hotmail) and Gmails filter does the job for me for my main address

I've yet to get real spam in my gmail account. Which is funny since I use it the same way I used my yahoo account and that fills up quickly.

yahoo is 250 MB's now, but I didnt mean it literally got filled up. Just so many spam messages would appear. The only ones i got in gmail is from stuff i more or less actually signed up for, but dont give a damn about.

The yahoo one gets shit saying a message I never sent to someone bounced back and that I should open an attachment or whatever. Retards. I've got like 20 of those in my box right now.

I hate that shit. Up there with "burgers in gravy" tinned and corned beef. Never seen spam with cheese in it before, doubt it makes it edible somehow.

Nice! ASCII spam! At least its prettier, haha!

New breed? Does that make it mongrel spam? Has a rather unappetizing sound to it!

I get little spam (maybe 2 or 3 messages a month), and I have AOL, post my email address openly on forums, and have had it for about a year.

    Luck?

I get Spam from bloody Konami ! I hate the fuckers! Every week without fail they'll send me mails about bloody stupid Konami Baseball info and what not. I have wrote to them many times complaining but what have they done? Bugger all !! Apart from that I get a few Japanese ECHI (Porn) spams to my PC mail account. The Yahoo one fills up with those mails that bounce back even though you've never sent them or they are even sent by you to yourself ? What's the point in that? Luckily Yahoo's SPAM filter is very good so all the spam gets dumpped in to the Spam section.
