http://bloody-disgusting.com/news/3423971/violent-castlevania-tv-series-headed-netflix-year/ It is supposed to be a "hard-R" rated series and gory as hell, so here's hoping it turns out decently.
This can only end poorly. I had such high hopes for his Judge Dredd animated series, and it was just weird and disgusting.
I am inclined to believe a netflix-made series will do okay for a brief moment then tank hard. That at least begs the question of why they chose castlevania?
Well, it's not like Konami was going to make another (non-slot) game, might as well cash in through licensing.
Especially disappointing considering how good Dredd was. They need to make another. Karl Urban said he would do it.
I would definitely watch that, I loved Dredd. I saw this a few months before I left, it was brand new at the time. Spoiler
I'm glad they decided to go with one of the older yet still iconic games despite how beloved SoTN is and the success of Lords of Shadow. Plus CV3 already has romance and betrayal to work off of. I'm hoping for the best with this one and they just might be able to pull it off. EDIT: It's based on Castlevania 3. I read that elsewhere but that particular article didn't mention that.
Its probably because its an easy genre and popular series to mimic, I mean, who knows, it might be ShadowHunters-like XD
