European physicists are putting forward a plan to build a facilty that will use lasers to produce fusion. The energy created from the fusion will be used to power generators to create electricity without emmiting any harmful greenhouse gases or long-lived nuclear waste.

Interesting, but dont you need lots of electricity to power lasers. Which sorts of defeats the point unless they can get enough back to cancel out the electricity they used to create it.

Nice to hear they haven't given up on fusion yet - remember some time around the late '90s I think they got some nuclear fusion reactor to work for about a second, but that was about as far as the could get...

    i got better idea.
why not everyone strap the pant with reservoir for methane gas. so every time you pass the wind it will filter out and collect the needed gas.
After a while you go to the station and unload the cargo and either get paid in credit or use it at home to power up your own house...

suppose for that to happen we will have to change our diet as well to produce the maximum methane gas per meal... :p

    p.s. no I haven't seen Thunder Pant...
