well well... as some of you know (since i said it in a post somewhere in here ages ago) i work closely related to nokia and within that, a while ago it came to my knowledge that the nokia N950 model was sorta scrapped and aside the set of dev devices it'll never be obtainable anywhere ever again.. so my shot in the dark goes as follows. If anyone here has one or knows how to or where to get one, i don't care what it costs, i need one right now. even my internal connections to the company left me empty handed with this, and the prototype of said phone i used to have had to be returned so im outta luck with that. a bit of info about it, it's basically a nokia N9 with hardware QWERTY and a better camera, but shittier screen. the systems are "dev only not for sale" and are relatively hard to get as it seems. If im not allowed to make a post of this sort, go ahead and nuke it. thanks for reading edit: here's a pic

the n9 is still pretty cool the fact that windows crap substitutes it as a "primary" thing, doesn't mean that n9 is just going to vanish back on topic, i did indeed manage to grab me a N950, and GODDAMN i tell you.... no wonder nokia sucks nowadays, all their best stuff is non-rel protos :/ what comes to why i wanted one.... well, aside the obvious that it is currently the best nokia phone there is, i do use it for deving a bit too. not that i know anything about what im doing since all i've ever done is hacked psp and ps2 games, but im getting the hang of Qt a bit now, and even got an alpha of my own visual novel engine running on harmattan couple days ago gotta say, working with the thing is as much fun as it is educating atm.
@Mugi, I totaly dont know anything about Nokia,and dont have any connections with them or people connected somewhere. So i was unable to help. Im happy for you so much that u did find one. I wish you more luck and happy time with it. If you find anything cool, or made a nice app, please share us your joy by posting a picture or telling a story about it
no, not this particular unit atleast. 99% of these devices are devkits, and thus bound by nokia's PLA (product loan agreement), however, the one i managed to buy was given out as a contest prize somewhere and is not actually bound by aforementioned contract. I see no reason why i couldn't not use it. the big guys at the company were a bit curious about how i got a hold of one when i called in to ask about service manual and spare parts i'll post a picture or 2 at some point, been writing a visual novel engine for the system and a "game" that was produced as a side effect of testing it, got i'ts prologue chapter up and running late last night. on the hacking side of the machine, it's mostly been little things to improve usability so far. Things like rotation aware system menus, and various graphical hacks (wallpapers on the 3 mainscreens). it's nothing to mention really since instructions to these are everywhere
