I thought it might be worthwhile to post this up just in case someone's on the fence for buying Gravity Rush. If you don't want to read, I'd say buy it- it's a great game.

I downloaded the demo a little ago and found the controls to be hard to use. The sensitivity was too slow on the analog stick, and a tad to high for the tilt controls. This is especially important to get the sensitivity right as you are often floating around in 3D space, with no real meaning of up and down.
Also, the storyline intro was off too, but...

It was just the demo. The actual game is quite different- her powers are introduced differently, and it begins differently. Of course it does sort of "jump" into the storyline, but that's because she seems to just appear in the world, not knowing who or where she is. The powers are also given fairly early on, but presumably she already had them, and didn't know how to use them. Who knows (I haven't finished it)

The art style is really nice- the anime feel it gives just sits right with the pseudo-future setting. Plus, large chunks of dialog are animated and progressed much like manga/comic books, which is really neat. There's also a tilting perspective that doesn't do anything functional in the comic book like progressions, but it's adds a nice touch.
The graphics are impressive too- I'd say on par or just below that of a PS3 game. Objects fade off in the distance, but's that's expected from a portable system that doesn't even get hot while gaming.

Controls are easy to catch on to, and don't seem clunky at all. While it is sort of a pain to get over the edge of a building if you are standing on the wall, you get used to using it after a while. I also found it was easier to control the game when I realized that the controls for shifting gravity don't need to be pointed at an object- you can just freely start flying through the air. While in the air, the player is able to lightly control the flight path to avoid objects, but not too much that it seems unreasonable. I didn't like the placement of the camera centre button as I found myself constantly having to press the down d-pad button too often to fix the camera angle. It would be nice if there was a fixed camera mode, or if you could remap the buttons to your liking. Still, it's only a small issue.
There's also the little feature that the character can climb over barriers. While it is small, some games have been notoriously terrible for not letting users climb over objects waist high.
AFAIK it doesn't use the back touch panel, which I take as a relief- using it's inconvenient and would only ruin the fluidity of the moves.

it's a fun game to play around in- as it's free roam style, you can practice using the gravity shifting on the fly before you get into the next mission. It also includes side missions for extra bonuses to upgrade your powers.
I would recommend it to those who like adventure games, but not the fast paced, always-in-a-mission style game.

If you have it already let me know what you think, and if you disagree with what I say. It's a subjective review, so it's always best to try the demo (but remember the demo is not nearly as good as the full game)
