Ah, fond memories of that old shell for DOS. Even when I was using 3.11 I still used NC to browse and load my DOS games =) The solid blue boxes and the white letters are burnt in my head and remind me of the "efficient days" of computing and hacks. Honestly I m let down by all the modern complexities of operating systems like VISTA and their bells and whistles.

I m sure the younger audience will find the conveniences of today's OS a pleasure, and so do I but there's just something magical about going minimal and low that made you a geek in the eyes of the world =)

Total Commander is a great tribute too, but Volkov Commander is fine as fuck too. As a tribute to that old shell.

I think that I still have the 5.25" NC install disks around someplace....way too much time spent with that. I remember them all being good times though.

I am, however, that the days of the boot disk to gain that extra 21k of ram needed are finally gone.

NC was good till the day I found Dos Navigator on some shareware CD. I've been using it since then and have no plan to change it. Text mode interface FTW! ;)

The legendary NC! I remember running tons of games from that... as well as Nesticle and Genecyst (I actually paid for them!).
