http://www.standard.net/live/news/94784/ Only in Utah can a 14 year old kid who gets hardcore porn for Christmas comment "It wasn't a pretty scene." On a related note, since it looks like the game was an authentic, pressed copy (according to the article, that is) how much do you think the Madden 07 porn addition is going to be worth in years to come?
If they are trying to find out "who did it" to charge them with providing pornographic material to a child, shouldn't they arrest the uncle as he was the one whom actually provided the material in question. Even if someone intentionally created this disk (not to mention if it is even real, or what they can actually prove as far as intentions go), there is no way they could of known that it would have been given to a child. Anyway, Circuit City doesn't really need to answer for anything regarding this situation as they sold what for all they knew was a football game to an adult.
If this is true, If the game is original, If it runs on a stock Xbox 360, Then two things are going to happen: 1) Someone at EA is getting fired 2) Someone in Microsoft cert is getting fired It would also mean that all discs from the same batch exhibit the same issue. It's not hard to believe that a programmer would throw a random file on a disc to pad it for whatever reason, but after the Tiger Woods/South Park incident it's suprising that EA of all companies would be the one to do it and that no one in cert/approval caught it. Oops. -hl718
Well seeing as the certification didnt catch the fact that Gears of War, THE flagship game for Xbox 360, didnt work using 4:3 resolutions on a VGA cable... i don't exactly have a high regard for any testing or certification process these companies use.
And yet my copy of Gears of War runs happily in 4:3 over a VGA cable. Adds in the proper black bars and everything. I can't be the only one on the planet with a copy of Gears that works. -hl718
Not wishing to repeat what has already been stated, but IF it's an original pressed disc, that is a very weird way to hand in your notice to your employer as frankly I guess someone at EA or MS is for the chop! It strikes me that most 14yr old kids would have failed to "inform" their parents what they had found in the first place. He should have immediately placed it on eBay and bought himself several new games with the proceeds lol ;-) A single lack of entrepreneurialship over there in Utah!
"This is definitely not Madden," he said recalling his first thought after seeing the image. MAN THOSE PEOPLE AREN'T PLAYING FOOTBALL AT ALL!!
I remember something happening like that with EA before, a Tiger Woods game got pressed with a south park episode on it that played on PC's, but that one was on almost all the discs for awhile, wierd.
I wonder if this is really on the original game disc or if it's on a disc that someone returned to the store? They boot the "game" up and all they see is porn? It must be someone's movie or picture disc. I can't see how this would happen otherwise.
This is not true. Both PG3 and GoW present this issue at ONE and only resolution. 1280x1024. After contacting the developers over at Bizzare, they told me it's an MS issue regarding a bug on the console, that they changed last minute before they launched the console. It's a stability 'fix' which has this side-effect at that resolution, unfortunately. For this reason I have to play PRG3 at 1024x768
If I had porn in a videogame as a 14 year old, then I would love it. But well, I bought my first porn mag when I was 12. So well this makes me laugh Sorry but this is something that makes me smile, and I think it is fun. LOL sorry rofl
Its not like they have THAT many resolutions or cables to fix. Any proper testing procedure would have caught this error. I *still* cant play Gears of War because it still looks messed up now, which is what 2 months after its release? Nice support! Im already at the point where i dont even want to play it anymore. Im trading it away soonish, and if that deal falls through im considering shoving it in some cow-dung and mailing it to Epic. Bastards...
I understand your problem. The fuck-up wasn't there originally at that resolution. (1280x1024) it was a stability fix that had this side-effect. You can play GOW and 1024x768 I think in the right ratio.
No, it only works correctly in 640*480. Im not playing it in that res though, and im not modifying ANY settings to just play some games. I'll just go back to PC gaming when i want that. Nextgen consoles really blow, imho.
Haha, that's funny! Oh, and don't forget Dead Rising on a standard TV is virtually unplayable! How did that one slip through the net? Don't they test on more than one kind of TV? Yeah, IF it is genuine, he should eBay it, lol! Hmm, I'd like to see a Tiger Woods disc! What format was that on, and which game?
