http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3086768363&category=15116 Look at the auction.... Seems as if its an actual gd-r of some sorts... Also has a "EMI CD HOLAND" lable maybe these guys were something to do with making these cds???
noidea lol - but im not really interested myself :smt019 the outrigger beta on dch apparently looks identical but it was used only for 3 days to test the online functions so it was mailed to joe public who was successfull in applying for betatesting it - its probably not even a gd-r just std gd which hasnt been printed on yet
That's not a GD-R It's a "white label" disc as they're called. Basically whenever Sega would do a run of discs the factory would send an initial check batch over to the company before starting on the full run. Those check discs would be checked for accuracy as well as sending some out to the press for use as review copies. The code on there should be final, retail code. It is a normal, factory made GD-ROM and NOT a GD-R. These are fairly common and usually go cheaply. I've got a stack of them here for various games. -hl718
Yup, its a GD-ROM not GD-R. So what if it has no printing? Who said they HAVE to print the white shit on it? It comes like this, blank!
IF you look closely on the second pic. You'll see the word Holland. Could that be where they make those?? If anybody lives near there, try to find a GDR manufacturing facility there. And maybe find some for sale at cheapass prices.
every pal disc (for dreamcast) has been made in the good old Netherlands/Holland.... Although I do have one pal disc which is made in japan and thats: 'Dreamon Collection 2'... (strange enough part 3 is again made in the netherlands)
Then why hasnt anyone checked out wher abouts they made them? Maybe the place has lots of nice GD-Rs in a back room...
I think you'll find that most audio/data cd's have EMI printed on them. EMI is a pressing plant for CDs...
*starts foaming at the mouth*... who would have thought that such a retro-depraved country like Holland was the source for all that lush material? rayer: rayer: rayer:
Labels Paulo, US "white label" discs don't have labels physically printed on them. SOA just sent them out plain. PAL "white label" discs do. SOE wanted to make sure people didn't get the discs confused. Either way they're both just "normal" GD-ROMs, not GD-Rs, and neither is particurlarly rare. I've probably given away more "white label" discs to friends than I can count. -hl718
Hi hl718, Can I be your friend? Please..... ;-) Seriously though, if you feel the need to give away more, i'll ive you a few pounds for them. Or dollars if you wish LOL
Question is - do US NTSC games have the EMI Holland printed in the circle like the PAL-E games do? Or are they made somewhere else? My guess is that it was just never printed on & is a PAL-E (almost) white label pre-production or beta disc.
