ACE ATTORNEY 5. I should have made it clear in the title. My bad.

Yep, AA5 is on the way. If you live in Japan, at least. A few notes about the game

    - On 3DS
    - Takes Place one year after AA4
    - Phoenix Wright is the main lawyer, not Apollo Justice
    - Wright has a new assistant that takes the place of Maya
    - The first prosecutor is Winston Payne's younger brother
    - Games uses 3d models instead of the usual 2d sprites
    - Still no goddamn announcement for a AAI2 localization

So while Capcom is busy giving me an iOS port I don't want, Japan has already played AAI2 and will soon be getting AA5. Capcom needs to get their shit together. I'd be happy to support them if they weren't such screw ups.

I can't say I like the 3d models. I think the 2d sprites looked far better, but maybe the 3d models will grow on me over time. Pics:

While I still prefer sprites over models any day, I must admit, they look a ton better than my first thoughts based off what you wrote.

Capcom always seems to be on the tipping point on whether or not they want to localize Phoenix Wright games, and that has always bothered me! It is a worthy continuation of games that deserves world-wide release over some of these other pitiful series.

    However, seeing as I don't have a 3DS. . . I can wait this one out. :biggrin-new:

    Edit:

That was fast. I guess AA5 is coming stateside. Read the end statement.

but yeah no AAI2, but I am not too upset.

I didn't mean to give a bad impression. I just honestly wasn't fond of the 3d models based on the screenshots. Something about Phoenix and the judge just doesn't look right to me. It'll probably look better when actually playing and even if it doesn't, it's not really a deal breaker as long as the story and cases are interesting.

Funny how it didn't take long to confirm AA5's localization, yet I've been waiting to hear news about AAI2's localization for over a year. I'm happy and pissed at the same time.

I am quite surprised there hasn't been any AAI2 translation rom hack released.
AAI1 was far better than I expected, I kinda expected the only chance AAI2 has to get a western release is a digital release before PW5 on 3ds and IOS. Capcom often like to put out games before another one to warm up fans, gauge appeal and get new audiences.

So it seems the Ace Attorney movie can be found with English subs online. I was not aware of this, but it appears to have been online for weeks. I'm pretty sure it's an unofficial translation, but it seems good enough.

Some of you may remember a few months back when I mentioned how stupid I thought the entire concept of this movie looked. Well, I haven't seen all of it yet, only the first two cases. It doesn't seem as bad as I feared, but I still think an anime series would have been better. Ace Attorney just does not look right with real life actors. The stupid(ly awesome) haircuts, the ridiculous(ly stylish) outfits, the obnoxious mannerisms, all better suited for an anime. I hope they decide to make one eventually.

Also, I'm gonna be pissed of they decide to release AAI2 on the iCrap like they did with AA1+2+3 HD. Any digital only release and I'm not buying it. I'll find a way to play it, but I'm not buying it. Ace Attorney deserves to be treated better than some cheap cell phone game.
