[h=5]I just heard about this... Aaron liberated massive amounts of important scientific papers from behind the paywall JSTOR Co-creating the RSS 1.0 standard, co-founded Reddit. Please don't hesitate to get help with depression http://www.suicidepreventionlifeline.org/[/h]
I'd assume depression was the overall cause but I've yet to see anyone say what the underlying reason why was. Damn shame.
A million dollar fine and prison sentence lasting for decades looming over his head? RIP Aaron - he was an innovator and stood up for his beliefs - a freedom of information that I'm sure many of us commend him for. It's a shame his actions seem to have got him into a lot of hot water and perhaps led to depression.
I'd assume you didn't even look up anything towards the end of his life or what he did, unless you mean depression from the bullshit he was being put through. Being prosecuted for making the world a better place, truly makes me sick.
He killed himself because they wanted to put him away for THIRTY YEARS for downloading academic papers legally over the MIT network. You get less time in Jail for murder, child rape/murder. It's all about big business using the willing government as a tool to destroy people.
Um, no, what he was doing and planning on doing was nowhere near legal. Definitely not worth what they were planning to throw at him though.
